I have been incredibly bored recently with my outfits; I feel like I’m wearing the same thing all the time. Part of my problem, which is not a problem at all actually, is that I work from home doing Grechen’s Closet, and then part-time at Starbucks, so I don’t get ‘out’ much. Between work, and work, I don’t have a lot of time to do much of anything else, besides shop (but that’s work of course) & enjoy an occasional dinner out with my boyfriend. Sometimes, I never get to leave the house at all.
This all kind of leads towards my having a very casual wardrobe, but one that is centered around style and comfort equally. I don’t own a pair of sweat pants, I wear jeans only about half the time, and I don’t wear my running shoes to do anything but run…so I’m a couple of steps above having given up on style entirely, but my outfits of late lack character.
So, I’m hoping that posting a picture of my outfit everyday will help me to learn:
a. if I really do wear the same thing everyday
b. what is most flattering on me and what isn’t
c. how to accessorize better (that is my BIGGEST problem)
d. how to be more creative with my outifts
That is the theory anyway…posting pictures of myself has helped me in many ways up until now, so it certainly can’t hurt in this situation. And hopefully, you will find something of value there too!
So here goes…today’s outfit:
I’m wearing:
7 for all mankind denim skirt from last year
gold Michael Stars top
Charcoal DarylK for Barney’s Co-Op sweater/cardigan fastened with a peacock brooch (I had to pull it tighter because it’s a little big on me, and not as fitted as I like)
Jeffrey Campbell Turn Star Flats
Giles and Brother silver necklace
Giles and Brother silver bracelet
Bing Bang Skull Earrings
Not pictured here: I carried my grey Qara leather hobo bag
Everything is at least a year old, except the shoes, jewelry and bag. (and just in case you’re wondering, it was about 70 degrees here today, that’s why I’m bare-legged)
I feel pretty good about this outfit. It’s not boring, and was extremely comfortable for a quick trip to the Georgia Aquarium.
