We went for dim sum with some friends yesterday, so my first requirement was elastic pants, second was keeping my hair out of my face. Mission accomplished. Anyway, my hair is getting out of control, but I don’t have an appointment for a cut until the 31st, so I pull it back quite often lately.
I’ve worn these leggings a lot since I got them; I took them to Atlanta when I went a week ago, wearing them twice when I was there. I’ve also worn them at home a few times. I probably could have gone with a size small, since they’re a little big at the tush and even around the legs a little, but I couldn’t be bothered to send them back and order a new pair. Online shopping is annoying when I can’t try on first…and I’m honestly having a really hard time figuring out my size in a lot of things.
They’re still good in the medium, I love the ultra high waist (they go almost up to my bra line), and they’re incredibly comfortable. I’d been looking at these specific leggings for a long time, mostly because I wanted a pair that had a little texture and “interest” to them to rotate with my regular black leggings. From afar, you can’t really tell any difference between these leggings and regular black leggings, but I can tell, I appreciate the subtle textural difference that the coating gives, especially when I’m wearing all black.
Anyway, it’s not the best outfit ever, and I know I don’t look particularly chic, but this is what I wore – all day yesterday, even at home! – and man…I was cozy. Happy Monday!!
Cozy is about all I’ve got too, since I’m recovering from a surprise appendectomy last Tuesday! (I guess they’re always a surprise, though ;-))
Leggings are the only thing I can put on right now, and very thankful for those James Perse high-waisted fleecy leggings I got. I was feeling a bit of buyer’s remorse, because they do tend to slouch a bit, but are perfect for post-surgery recovery.
oh man!! i’m sorry you had to go through that. wow. thank goodness for yummy JP leggings though 😉 they seem perfect for recovery, and they’re so soft. welcome back !!
Get well SOON, Jen, so you can enjoy the Holiday goodies! 🙂
I like that the leggings are really opaque and seem substantial. I bought a pair of Eileen Fisher’s with a ruched ankle last year and I got my regular size (L) without trying them on…BIG mistake! They were huge and not nearly substantial enough, and stupidly, I waited too long to return them.
Ooo, glad I stopped by today because I’ve been looking for leggings without much luck. I may have to try those David Lerner Coated leggings .. they look really cool!
Monica.
Monica P´s last blog post ..Perfectly Plaid
i really think eileen fisher runs pretty big most of the time…you should be able to sell those though, i think EF goes well on ebay!
the david lerner leggings are VERY opaque, one of my main requirements…
Heck, cozy is all that matters when it’s this dang cold outside. I’d say you’re doing it 100% right, Grechen.
What has your experience been with returning items to Emerson Fry? I purchased a large order during the Black Friday sale and have been so disappointed with them! A few of the pieces were decent quality, most were pretty poor quality, the shoes unraveled during my second day of wearing them and the metal hook closure on a pair of frenchie pants bent out of shape over the last two weeks of wear.
I kept two pairs of pants and accepted an exchange for the unraveled shoes but EF hasn’t refunded my money for the things I returned, notified me regarding the status of my order or indicated that they even received the returns at all when FedEx says they have.
I am reaching out to you because they’re email response time is several days and they are flat out ignoring my emails about one of my returns. Do you know anyone at EF that can help me?
I am SO DISAPPOINTED. I purchased EF trusting multiple recommendations and they’ve been a costly, huge mistake. Please warn your readers!
Do you have an update on your experience? Did you end up getting your purchase refunded?
