My husband bought me this dress from Anthropologie several months ago, and while I’ve worn it several times, this is the first time I was able to get an outfit picture. Sadly, I don’t see the sleeveless, longer version for sale anymore, but they do have the shorter, 3/4 sleeve version still on the site. Even though my dress is sleeveless, it’s still more of a Fall/Spring dress than a Summer dress because of the double layers and that I have to wear my heavy-duty Spanx underneath. Today it only got up to the mid-80’s and it was starting to become uncomfortable. It is great for traveling though, so comfortable for the plane…
I also got some highlights on my hair today, to give it more interest and texture. It’s hard to tell from the picture, but she did two colors, blonde & orange-y red. The effect is still pretty subtle, but in person, it’s really pretty, and a little unexpected. I’m so happy with the cut and color, although Kelly’s beginning to convince me that I can really lighten up and do an all over orange-y red color this Summer. We’ll see!!
And thanks to a reader from Italy, hi Clara!!, I went to go check out W3LL people cosmetics today while I was out with my friend Rachel. In this picture, I’m wearing all W3LL people cosmetics, but I only left with the mineral powder, the Altruist. It seemed to do a lot to diminish the redness on my face and even out my skintone – much better than the Smashbox primer I bought yesterday using the Sephora discount code – and I love the way it feels on my face. I’ll go back and get more products as I run out of the stuff I already have; I really love this line.
That dress is really flattering on you.
You look great!
You look nice.
Love,
Leo

LOVE that dress, Gretchen! It looks so good on you, highlighting every curve so perfectly! I really like that length over the short one a lot – very lengthening!
That dress is awesome, wow makes your figure va-vaaavooom!
I agree, this dress really accentuates your curves and looks fab!! I have had it on my Anthro “wishlist” for awhile and didn’t even notice that it was sold out. Time to check my wishlist, huh? I love the hair color!! Now I want my highlights. Appt. is scheduled, so we’ll see how it turns out.
thank you kyla!! i need all the lengthening i can get LOL 😉
thanks lisa.
yay for highlights! i used to get them all the time, but it’s been several years. i really think they do a lot to brighten up a look. and give texture…
i’m sure yours will turn out beautifully!!
I just wish they weren’t so expensive! I pay at least 2x more than I did in the midwest! Plus, the upkeep on my base color (i.e. coloring my gray roots) is more frequent, which means more money.
my stylist told me i just needed a “spill,” which is cheaper than highlights ($75) because she uses fewer foils (although she did use a lot of foils on my hair…). maybe ask about that? i think it gives almost the same effect without spending as much.
You look amazing! I can’t wait to see your hair in person but it looks lovely in the photo! (Even Leo likes it!)

Hmm…I’ve never heard of a “spill” but I will surely ask. Thanks for the tip!
i had never heard of it either…but who am i to argue with cheaper??
