It’s cold here (REALLY – it’s hardly been above freezing since last Thursday). But the sun is finally out, so I thought I’d take a chance and wear shoes today instead of boots. Although I’m entirely comfortable with my Rag & Bone boots now; I wore them to run errands and meet a friend for lunch yesterday and felt great in them the whole time. Today, I’m going to Costco, selling some books and may duck into Nordstrom. And we’re now also officially in the middle of packing, so I feel like more casual attire is in order. Everything is cluttered, and I’m surrounded by boxes, packing tape and bubble wrap. Which means my life is generally in chaos, and I need to at least be completely “grounded” in terms of my attire; now is definitely not the time for heels or color š
Speaking of that, how do you dress during times of “stress” when you still have to be “presentable?” Do you revert back to your tried & true pieces? or wear your “special” pieces; the ones that brighten your mood? Obviously, I revert back to my simplest, most comfortable items…
Oh, and this is the last week of photos with this “backdrop”! I hope you enjoy…I know I will miss the scenery from my patio/office window. The Dallas-area is VERY different!
When I am stressed, I try to be as comfy as possible. So yes, when I am stressed but have to look nice, I tend to go for sweater dresses, tights and ankle boots, which might be my version of what you’re wearing above š
I feel for you, we just moved 3 weeks ago, only across town, but still…it’s stressful. I liked to be comfy, basics for sure. Long sleeve tees (since it’s cold, even in Georgia), sweaters, jeans and boots. I even wore my inhabit cashmere sweater one day and instantly felt less stressed!! And hair stayed in a ponytail for a while! I hope you all have a great move and I bet you all will love your new place.
I was going to say that I liked “closed” better, but on second thought, I really like the “open” look. I guess I’m just in a contrary mood today š Good luck to you on your move. We’ve done it more times than I can count. I told my husband that I fully intend to die where we live now. No more moves for a LOOOOONG time, if we can help it!
You dress WAY more nicely than I would be if I were packing. I think when I’m stressed, it’s my jammies for me. I could LIVE in them!!
I start to look like a crazy lady since essential items always seem to find their way into boxes while I still need them.
Good luck with the move and can’t wait to see the new backdrop of Grechen’s Closet š
