So, after all the back and forth, I got this dress from Anthropologie yesterday in a size 10 – since it was more than 50% off…
are you guys happy now????? π
I’m much happier with it in a smaller size, but I still don’t love how it looks with a jacket or sweater on top. Maybe I’m just insane. I don’t know.
What I’m wearing:
Anthropologie dress
Athropologie jacket
No6 clogs
Jas M.B. bag – mine is olive, which is sold out (use code GRECHEN25 at tobi.com and get 25% off this bag!!)
Now my 30 pieces for the 30 for 30 challenge are complete – NO MORE SHOPPING for me. Well….at least whatever I buy I can’t wear right away π
Is it bad that I feel a little sense of victory seeing you in this awesome dress?? I’m so happy you ended up getting it, because it looks great with your jacket, bag and shoes. Hope to see it remixed later in the challenge!
I liked the way the dress looked on you with out the jacket…
You may need a more dainty jacket-type item. The color and shape of the dress suits you well!
The dress looks great. I kind of agree with Dina’s comment. I think all you need is a very simple, thin knit close fitting cardigan in a beige-y, neutral color. Try finding a cardigan (maybe in your closet) like that. I would sooner do a sweater than a jacket. You just want something that doesn’t have a lot of detailing that competes with the dress.
see, that’s why i took the dress back in the first place…because it doesn’t work with jackets/sweaters on top. nothing works – really – if i could find a REALLY cropped jacket, etc. it might work, but everything is too long imo. i have such a short waist. and i have simple, thin close-fitting cotton cardigans from inhabit – which don’t work very well either, because they’re too long….
I think the dress looks great on you!
Same here. I really like the dress a lot. You rock that dress!
I really like the dress on you, but why wouldn’t you wear it on it’s own without a sweater or jacket? You have nice arms and it looked great on you that way. Have courage braveheart!
I hear you, Grechen, about having a lot of sweaters but there’s always something a little off about one or the other. But don’t fret–the dress looks so good. You still did the right thing getting it. And the jacket in the picture is not bad–even if it’s not exactly what you would want. Just keep your eye out for a simple cropped cardigan or jacket. Also, I still love pashminas and find them incredibly versatile with dresses that I need a wrap over but have no jacket or sweater that works. I wear the pashmina like a shawl, like a scarf, like a half-shawl/half-scarf. You might try one.
Word, Carla.
I’m so happy that you got the dress and the skirt! (And for a bargain!) It’s so pretty and it was hard to choose between the skirt and dress, they both look great on you!
Hi, fellow remixer here. Looks like you have as much black and grey in your items as I do. Best of luck on the remaining challenge. It’s hard not to shop.
