So….here it is in action, the leather skirt from Anthropologie – but I have to be honest, I thought long and hard about taking the it back after I bought it on Saturday. You know me…I lead such a casual lifestyle, and hardly ever wear anything interesting, so I was questioning exactly how often I’d wear the skirt to make it worth the price.
But as I was getting dressed today, I thought I could wear jeans and a sweater JUST like I wore yesterday, or I could wear something interesting – like my new leather skirt. And all I did today was meet a friend and go to Anthropologie to try on the size 10 in the floral print dress EVERYONE liked (I bought it). That’s it. But I loved wearing the skirt. And when I checked out with my dress, the SA told me the skirt looked great on me; she didn’t think she liked it when they first got it in, but now she does 🙂
I’m wearing the Anthropologie leather skirt with:
Spanx tights
Swedish Hasbeens clogs
L’Agence grey tee (with a 1/4 inch HOLE in the back I just discovered!!!)
DarylK for Barney’s Co-Op 3/4 sleeve sweater
Jas M.B. bag from Tobi.com (use code GRECHEN25 for 25% off – excluding J Brand) – I decided I could carry this bag with the skirt. I was WAY over-thinking it….
And In case you’re wondering, I’m TOTALLY sticking to my challenge pieces. I took back the Opening Ceremony cardigan I originally had in the rotation and added the leather skirt + the new floral dress 😉
If you’re interested in buying the skirt (2 of you have already!), both of my stores have it in stock (it’s not online yet) – and I think it runs true to size. Call 512-236-9301 or 512-873-8429 to order.
glad you kept the skirt!! it looks amazing AND i love the black and grey you mixed it with!

YAY that skirt looks amazing! stepping out of your comfort zone every once in a while is a good thing! And your bag looks good too, the browns complement each other and they look very rich / elegant together.
thank you so much, fellow 30for30-er 🙂
thanks!! i realized i was WAY over analyzing the leather bag issue…thinking i couldn’t carry a leather bag with a leather skirt. i can’t say i wouldn’t rather have a different texture – maybe suede – but i do think that the different color leathers work…
Amazingly cool outfit! Which, btw, also happens to look fantastic on you and that teeny waist of yours. (so jealous…)
You are totally rocking the leather skirt. I’m so glad you got it. Can’t wait until mine shows up – you’ve inspired me with your grey & black additions to the rich brown of the skirt.
Cute!!!!!! But if you ever want to sell it, I would love to take it off your hands, lol. I went to Anthro yesterday and spied that skirt. I remembered your pics and decided to try it on. I love it, but they didn’t have my size (10), so I might have to call that store.

haha!! i will keep that in mind, but mine is a size 12…would be a little big for you 🙂
seems like different anthro’s are displaying the skirt differently, it’s interesting – my “usual” store had them right in the front out on a table, you couldn’t miss them! then the store i went to yesterday, they were hanging on the back of a rack in an area of the store no one goes to…guess they’re not sure how well the skirt’s going to sell.
my friend sharon kept telling me i should wear grey tights with it…and since i don’t have any, i tried a grey tee, and i really like the color combo!
let me know when yours comes – i want to know what you think of it!!
you are obsessed with my “tiny” waist LOL
thank you though 🙂
I absolutely love this skirt. It looks great paired with those tights too.

thanks katie!!!
It has arrived! I threw it on over what I was wearing because I didn’t have the patience to go upstairs & change. I took a couple pics, just put 1 on twitter. I should know how to post one here too but I don’t. Maybe this will work: http://i565.photobucket.com/albums/ss98/bloomdl/39bf71fc.jpg

(worn over a navy theory wool short sleeve sweater/tee shirt dress, black Vince leggings, brown belstaff boots)
Thanks for enabling me to get this, I love it. I wasn’t sure what size to get; in anthro clothes, I could be a 6, 8 or 10. I chose the 8, and it fits perfectly right about on my natural waist. It was $$, but not as bad as other leather skirts, and it’s next to impossible to find a non-pencil/mini leather skirt, so I’m quite happy withmy purchase.
ah!! i love love love love it!!! that skirt looks amazing on you!!! yay for skirt twins 🙂
I am honored to be your skirt twin!
Oh, did I mention I love the pockets? And the snaps instead of buttons in the back? And the length, which is just right! I was starting to think I would have to suck it up & get a leather miniskirt, even though I absolutely do not have miniskirt-approved thighs. The general public thanks you for finding this skirt so no one has to be subjected to viewing my upper thighs.
