These pants. I love them, but wish I could wear them more often. They’re flannel, which means they have a very short season here in Texas, and they’re navy, not black. I know…the navy is lovely, actually, and I love that they’re navy (it’s so refreshing for spring!), but my head wants to convince me I can’t wear them with EVERYTHING like I would wear black. Even though in reality, I can, of course.
Anyway, I resolve to try and wear them more often, now that it’s still not-too-hot-that-I-refuse-to-wear-pants.
And I’d like to report back on the Everlane Petra tote, now that I’ve carried it constantly for a few weeks. It’s amazing; I forgot how much I love to carry a giant tote everyday. Of course, the downside is that it becomes a catch-all for anything and everything I happen to collect while I’m out. Not necessarily a bad thing either, until I forget and it becomes so heavy with stuff I wonder what’s in there…not very KonMari of me, is it?
Ultimately, now I think I must have the black version too, although I can’t say why exactly. Just because I want it, I guess. The struggle is real.
Happy Wednesday!! Have you purchased anything with the Shopbop code? Please share! I actually ordered the Sundry jumpsuit LAST WEEK, so I called yesterday for a price adjustment. I’ll show you the outfit tomorrow. I can’t get enough of it.
I had the Rachel Comey low moon wedges in my Shopbop cart, but hesitated and they disappeared. AHHH!
Now I’ve wasted a ton of time hunting for them elsewhere, but the low wedges are hard to find. And I really can’t get them at full price and now I am sad. I have a feeling that your version might be too tall for me. And, I always second guess Rachel Comey sizing because I tend to go down half a size in the clogs and boots even when the listing says “true to size”.
*sigh*
oh man!!! honestly, i probably would’ve gotten the low wedge if it was available when i ordered mine…but i also don’t want another pair of wood wedges, though, so maybe not. i’m happy with mine, and even though they’re high, they’re not hard to walk in…
keep an eye out for returns. although by then, the coupon will be over π
I went a little nuts with the sale…ordered a yellow Splendid dress, Sam Edelman sandals, a Three Dots maxi skirt and some maternity jeans and tops to get me through the last few months with my growing bump. How far back will Shopbop be willing to price adjust? I ordered and returned a cardigan last week that is now sold out…totally would have kept me if I could have gotten the discount. Grr. Oh well!
i think it’s 7 days? i don’t know. i ordered my sundry jumpsuit on april 1, and the code started april 7…maybe it’s just within the 15 day window you have to return things?
they really threw me for a loop with back-to-back codes!!
I did a price adjust on an order from last week, too. I had bought several pairs of flats to try, but none worked out. Womp womp. I did keep this really cute tank that I can’t wait to wear over the summer! https://www.shopbop.com/gardena-tank-raga/vp/v=1/1548554011.htm

nice tank, it looks like it will be great for summer.
i read your recent blog post BTW (on my phone, which is why i didn’t comment – i fail at typing on my phone…) and i hope you’ll keep blogging, even if you can’t do it very often. do it because you love it, or you have something to share…not because you think you have to . of course you need a break after having your second child! π
Just got my dresses from Everlane, so thought I’d pop in with a quick review π
1) https://www.everlane.com/collections/womens-spring-structure-line/products/womens-short-sleeve-shirt-dress-white
This is probably the best thing I’ve ordered from Everlane–and one of the few things I’m keeping. The cap sleeves are really flattering, and the dress is slightly A-line and skims my body without looking oversized or baggy (I love the shirtdress look, but a lot of them are either too straight and look baggy on me). The white is not completely opaque–I would wear a slip underneath. I ordered a L–I’m normally a pretty solid 10 / 12, the hips on the dress measure 46″. My hip-to-waist ratio is pretty high, so if I find things that fit in my waist, they’re way too big through the hips and thighs. No gaping at the chest–I’m a 38C and again, button front shirts are sometimes problematic. I feel like it’s the right amount of ease without being oversized. I might order a denim one too, as it seems like a great summer dress that I can wear to work or casually, and cotton so will wash well . Also styles well with skinny jeans as they show on the site.
2) https://www.everlane.com/collections/womens-spring-structure-line/products/womens-sleeveless-dress-light-denim
This was a total bust on me. It’s sold out on the site anyway. The cut was much more straight and blah on me. The button front gaped, and the armholes were too low to wear it without a tank underneath. I ordered a size L and felt too small. Going back.
oh…nice to hear about the white shirt dress!!! what size do you think i should get? i’m not sure i’d ever wear it as a dress, which sort of leads me to think i should get a small so it fits better up top. BUT…if i ever DID want to wear it as a dress, i’m sure i’d rather have a medium so it’ll be more roomy in my hips…
how long is it? would it cover my knees? π
sorry to hear about the other dress though, at least more $$ back for other things!! or not…
I’m 5′ 4-1/2″ and the large hits me just above the knees.
In terms of sizing, I’d probably order both and return the one that doesn’t fit. π
Thanks for the encouragement π Six years is a long time (though not compared to your blogging longevity!), so I’m definitely not ready to throw in the towel yet.

I bought a pair of those Black Crane pants, in gray. Part of my Try To Dress Like Grechen phase. I’ve never worn them! They are great, just not on me. I’m planning a blog sale, to bid them, and some James Perse shirts, farewell:).
What’s your major issue wth them, Lisa? Too long or too short, too baggy? I’d still loves a pair,
