WEARING
Eileen Fisher harem pants | (I’m wearing a medium because I wanted them to be longer, although the small would have fit – I think Eileen Fisher runs a size big)
Everlane “Ryan” top (size medium)
Dannijo Rhaise necklace
Riudavets Avarcas sandal | (I got mine at a local boutique, Kickpleat, but they’re also available on the Riudavets online store, Totokaelo, and La Garconne. Everything recommends going one size down, but that did NOT work for me, I wore the smaller size around the house for two days, hours at a time, and they never stretched out enough for them to be very comfortable. So I went back to get my regular size – 38.)
Jas M.B. bag
I completely forgot I had this Everlane shirt – I hate that, it means I have WAY too much stuff – but I wanted to try doing black and blue again, so I pulled it out. I love the combination actually, although it feels quite dark for warmer weather, so I’m relying on the shoes to pump it up a bit! The shoes are great, although the recommendation to size down didn’t work for me. Today will be the first day I wear these “out” so I don’t know if they’ll stretch out so much I can’t wear them, but I hope not. I love the style (Ishvara makes the same style, it’s more expensive, and I don’t like the white stitching on the sandals. Pons by Avarcas are $75, but they have the white stitching too…) and would love to get another pair to rotate with this one if they turn out to be a great shoe for summer.
On another note, I’ve become addicted to Lisa Edridge’s makeup videos. I watched one on Into the Gloss first, then clicked over to her site and am making my way through them all. It’s because of her I started using eye shadow again, put a little mascara on my lower lashes, and stopped using eyeliner. I love my new makeup look; I think it’s rather natural, and very easy to do. Mostly I just like watching her videos, although she makes me want to try out new foundation, brushes, etc…which is a problem 😉
Happy Monday!! Hope everyone has a great week.
(more harem style on pinterest, if you’re interested!)
Jeffrey Campbell also has a similar sandal out (and only $49.95!):

How do you like those harem pants? I’ve been eyeing them but I can’t decide whether they’d make me look like the side of a house. Guess I could go try them on….
Hi Gretchen! You look great… so joyful 🙂 I was wondering if you heard anything about how Emerson Fry denim fits? And any thoughts on their customer service? Their Zep pant looks amazing but I’m apprehensive. Anytime I order online it never works out lil. Thanks
LOVE THEM. here’s a full review from when i first got them: http://grechenscloset.com/outfit-eileen-fisher-harem-pants/
i think they’re actually very slimming…
i love the zep pants in the engineer stripe!! but i have no idea how anything emerson fry runs, i’ve never ordered anything…if i had to guess, i would say small, just because it seems to me most indie designers run small – like steven alan –
Yea they’re amazing. Ok I’ll give them a try and let you know. Thanks
I think Sydney wears some Emerson Fry. I haven’t been in contact with her for awhile, but she’d probably know! I LOVE the blue/black combo. It suits you SO well. And your makeup looks great, in my opinion. You look like you’re wearing eyeliner, so it must be really great mascara!! I’m going to have to check out the makeup videos! (and I think you’re absolutely right, Eileen Fisher DOES run a size larger!)
i just smudged a little dark shadow under my eye and on my lid and am wearing a little mascara on my lower lashes – maybe that makes my eyes pop more? i don’t know; i’m terrible at makeup and telling what REALLY looks good on me, but i think i do like this look…
Wow. Your weigh tloss is very apparent.
did you see this? http://shop.efoutletstore.com/highrise-vintage-non-stretch-indigo
i’m SOOOOO tempted
Ooh the pants in that link are amazing. I do have something similar. I think I’ll get the Emerson Fry one tho. I love the stripe, they look so effortless… on the model lol.
the link is emerson fry! the outlet site…they look like the same exact shape as the striped jeans. not sure about the fabric though. i love that they’re 100% cotton.
thanks lisa – that’s what i’m going for 😉
Well thats dangerous, to know that EF has an outlet! II think I’m attracted to the stripes! But my favorite pair of jeans is 100% cotton they do run small but after a few washes/ wears they form to your body soooo well.
Hi! I was just wondering about the shoes, the thing is i have seen Pons Avarcas on Urban Outfitters website. I thought they are awesome and i’m going to buy them for sure until i accidentally found the exactly same design on oneofafew.com
now i’m a little bit confused
Are they from different brand?
I’m going to buy ones of them and cannot decide
(You know,it feels like you see a bunch of birkenstock-like shoes out there in Zara shop – i still want the original brand though!)
Thank you!
avarcas are the style i think, quite a few brands make them, including jeffrey campbell, although i’d look for a pair that comes from an “independent” designer, honestly. pons is good, riudavets is also good, zero maria cornejo makes a pair too, although they’re quite a bit more expensive… they’re great shoes, very comfortable. they should be made in spain to be “genuine”
hope that helps!
