Yesterday I was in the mood for a light layer (although it turned out I could have used a slightly warmer one…) and I threw this on. (is it a LSJ? or is it a cardigan? I can’t decide…) I have had many square shirts by Black Crane, but I prefer the wool blend/flannel version the best because it doesn’t get messy and TOO drapey looking, you know? Anyway, I don’t wear this very much, but I love having it around. I do LOVE to wear it with my black JP dresses though – it really compliments them.
In case you missed it, new arrivals launched at slowre yesterday also, and I threw in some styling pictures to go with quite a few of them. Because 1. there were A LOT OF PIECES I really loved and was tempted to buy for myself, so I played around with them, and 2. I know it’s so much nicer to see things on a person. I’m just not sure I’m the right person LOL

Guys, if these were my size, I’d have kept them. The consignor hardly wore them, and they’re in beautiful condition. Sigh.

I hate to say it but these silk Equipment shirts are so much higher in quality than Everlane’s silk, they are not flimsy at all, and feel so luxurious on.

Again, this cropped top is EVERYTHING and I would have bought it for myself, but it’s big on me at the shoulders/bust, so I don’t like how it puffs out on me there. But if you are like me and always looking for a great cropped, crisp white shirt (and have a larger bust), then please get this shirt!! I wanted it to work on me so bad!!!

HUGE thumbs up on #’s 1,4,7,and 8, with honorable mention by #6 the Equipment silk shirt in XS – that fits you great! And I’d be searching for the EF cropped white top if I were you – it looks super good with wide legs! (Of which you are already in possession of)
Love love love the 1st outfit with the Black Crane square shirt. I’m thinking of adding that to my wishlist, thank you for mentioning that shape comes in different fabrics so I know to figure out which one will work for me. I love to wear a shirt as a top layer too (perfect LSJ 😉 – now I know what that means!). It is also interesting to see you try out different outfits than your ‘Grechen’ outfits. You look great in all of these honestly.

you know, i’ve never been tempted by equipment silk shirts before, but these are so good. way better than everlane’s IMO. fit, quality, everything.
And I DO mean wide leg pants! Geez! “Complete the thought, Val.”
Thanks for the input on the Equipment shirts – both silk and cotton. I’d heard the silk wasn’t really all that great, but I trust that if you say it’s higher quality than Everlane I’m inclined to believe it. I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not to buy a silk Equipment shirt for a while now.
i can just compare the two brands, i don’t know about other silk shirts, but what a difference, honestly. i tried lots of Everlane’s silk and it never fit me right, and i also thought it was really thin and flimsy feeling. i mean, i’d be hard-pressed to pay full price for an equipment piece, so maybe everlane’s is “good” for the price, but it’s really not great silk IMO.
How do those Everlane Day Heels fit in comparison to the Modern Loafers? I remember you had a pair and didn’t keep them because they were snug on you. I normally wear an 8 but I got the Modern Loafer in an 8.5 and they worked for me a half size up.
