At this point, Alexander Wang is the only designer I own multiple bags of; they just “speak” to me. Donna was my first, then Coco came along, and now, Diego joins the family LOL. I received the Diego bucket bag this afternoon from Satine (in exchange for advertising) and so far I LOVE IT. It’s the same amazing pebbled leather as the Coco Duffel, but with more pockets, and multiple ways to carry it.
Incidentally, this outift is the most comfortable outfit in the ENTIRE WORLD and I want to wear it forever. I ordered the James Perse leggings from Revolve last week when they had their 20% off code, and they are 1,000,000,000% worth the $60 I paid for them. I love that they’re low rise, and they’re the same brushed jersey that I love on my JP turtlenecks. I’m also wearing a Splendid turtleneck, James Perse dress, Bop Basics wool blazer and No6 clogs.
Oh, and if you’re near a Nordstrom Rack you MUST GO NOW. I stumbled upon an entire rack of James Perse and spend an hour trying everything on. I ended up only with the boucle cardigan (can’t find it online right now) for under $100, but the long dress I bought earlier in the season was marked down to about $50, and lots of other pieces that are full price now online and in stores were marked down 50%.
Anyway, more on the bag…I carried it messenger style while I was out today, which was very comfortable. But it is NOT easy to get into. It does have two full size “pouches” in addition to the main storage area, but I’ve yet to figure out which is the best one to put my wallet in. I did have to leave some things out that I usually carry in my Coco duffel (I’ll do an “in my bag” post tomorrow, it’s been a while…), but I was able to get everything I needed in the bag. It holds more than it looks, the problem is getting into the sections that are held closed by the drawstring. I’m sure over time it will get easier to get in and out of as the leather stretches, but overall, it’s really not a big deal. (if my wallet wasn’t so HUGE, it wouldn’t be an issue at all…)
Satine is sold out now, but the Diego bucket bag is available at Shopbop in black, and Alexander Wang in navy suede. Other places have sold it recently, but these bags are selling out like CRAZY. If you’re interested in one, get it now. I highly recommend it.

I’m sooo glad you got this bag !!!! It’s one of my favorites !!! I’m loving the black on black, very hot ! Now I wish I would have gotten one. hahahaha
it’s fabulous naomi!! i still love the coco’s brass studs, but the black/black is so cool. thanks for feeding my obsession π
Iβm sooo glad you got this bag !!!! Itβs one of my favorites !!! Iβm loving the black on black,
Thanks to your update, I got this off zoeonline. And I saved 10%. Thanks grechen! Your codes have also saved me a lot of $$ on Delman’s.
Keep up the good work!
oh yay!!! i hope you love it…i do π
Love your style! If you had to choose between the rocco/coco duffle and the diego, which one would you pick? I am torn as I just received the black/black rocco but wonder if I would like the strap on the diego. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
that is a tough question!!! the rocco holds MUCH more and it’s easier to get in an out of. the diego is best carried messenger style, or by hand, it’s not great carried just on your shoulder. and it’s difficult for me to get to my wallet in it (but my wallet is HUGE). if i were FORCED to choose one, I’d probably go for the diego if i didn’t have a gigantic wallet LOL
I got the Diego this week and I love it. Your review was spot on. It’s not the roomiest bag but it has actually forced me to downsize the usual amount of junk I carry.
I keep wallet and phone in the back pouch, kindle and make-up in the middle and keys/ID/work bberry in the front. All I need really.
Thanks again for the review and code, Grechen. Diego and I are very happy π
I sooo want this bag and I love rocco duffle bag too! My only concern is I heard both of the bags are VERY heavy because of the studs?? Please help since I need to decide which one I should get if the Diego is still avaiable….
hi teresa! you know…the rocco is heavy, but it’s really not that much heavier than some of my other bags – my rebecca minkoff morning after bag was also pretty heavy. the diego is heavy also, but it’s easy to carry messenger style or by hand so it doesn’t feel as heavy…if that makes sense! which one you get really depends on your preference for how you like to hold your bags. if you’re good holding by hand, then go for the rocco, if you’re looking for more versatility, go for the diego.
hope that helps π they’re both wonderful.
