So, I decided after Friday’s “Fashion Show” post that I wasn’t going to post outfit pictures anymore – well, for a while anyway. As I’ve mentioned before, and you can probably tell, I gained a lot of weight when we moved to Austin. I didn’t realize it, but I was completely stressed out and in the beginning, we ate out a lot, and I baked a lot. In the beginning of September my fiance started going to Bikram (hot) yoga and convinced me to try also. Since then, I’ve been at least 4 days a week, most weeks 5 days and am starting to notice a difference in my body. I haven’t been back on the scale since I fluctuated 4 pounds within 24 hours a couple weeks ago (4 POUNDS!!!!), but I can fit into some of my clothes better, and I DEFINITELY feel better. And after I tried on some Joie pants at Barney’s Co-Op I NEVER would have fit into before, and they FIT, I started thinking this might be actually working…
Then, this morning, as I was browsing the Shopbop sale (new markdowns!!!) for a slouchy, black pair of pants, I remembered that I have a James Perse pair that I was really only able to wear once after I bought them. I tried them on, and voila! they fit. Mostly. I mean, they could be MORE slouchy, but at least I got them on 😉
Wearing:
Vince top
James Perse pants
Repetto flats
Alexander Wang Donna Hobo
woot! LOVE the flats. must have
those were the ones i got from ideeli i think? i can’t remember which SS site…but i’m so glad i can wear them now. although this afternoon is HOT.
Hey, Grechen, that’s fantastic that you’re seeing a change from all the yoga! I think exercise is great for both body AND mind…And I have a question about Shopbop.com. I see they are having a sale. But do you know when there will be any coupon codes for Shopbop that we can use to buy anything on the site?
hi carla!! i would be willing to bet that they’ll have a percentage off sale items sometime soon, or a friends & family coupon. last year they had a F&F (only 15% off though) in the middle of october. i’m waiting to buy 😉
does this mean you are continuing your outfit posts? They are my favorite! I like seeing what you put together to wear, you always look so awesome!
Thanks, Grechen! And I agree with Lisa, below, I like seeing your outfits. That Velvet dress you photographed the other day was so great that I went to the Anthro website to check it out–and then ended up lusting even more after a Tracy Reese dress.
I don’t know what I like more- the pants of the shoes. Don’t get me wrong the pants are awesome. But those fabulous flats……pleas excuse me while I plot ways to steal them from you….
Awwwww we’ll miss the outfits…don’t make us wait tooooooo long!
oh, what tracy reese dress?? now i have to go look 😉
hmmm…remind me never to wear them around you then 😉
i think i’ll keep doing outfits – when i’m inspired, and/or in the mood…i know you guys love them, and i do love to do them, some days are just tougher than others.
It’s called the Braque dress. Here’s the link: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=19228212&navAction=jump&search=true&parentid=SEARCH_RESULTS
I think one of the hardest things is to admit to oneself that change is in order–ANY kind of change. But I’ve worked the weight-loss program before myself and exercise is the biggest difference and one that you’re doing for YOU. Kudos, Grechen! Maybe you’ll inspire me to make a change.
I LOVE this outfit. AND, like I said, pictures can sometimes be less than flattering, but you always look great in person!
that is GORGEOUS!!! that’s one thing about anthropologie – they have the best dresses. that one would be beautiful on…
That’s so great you’re practicing Bikram! I’m been doing it (off and on) for about 10 years and nothing else makes me feel as good as stinky yoga does. Get’s a little repetitive after a while, but that can be good sometimes 🙂
i’m so in love with it!! i just finished my first month yesterday (i think i went about 20 times) 🙂
it’s repetitive for sure, but i like that i know what to expect, and i can compare what i was able to do before to what i’m able to do that day.
i just want to be able to do the standing head-to-knee pose correctly. that’s my ultimate goal LOL
Good luck with the yoga, exercise is so important for a healthy mind and body!
