Yes, you’ve seen this outfit before…I’ve been wearing this dress more and more lately. This time, I’m wearing flat sandals and accessorized a little with a House of Harlow 1960 necklace.
What I’m wearing:
James Perse racerback dress in Porcupine
Jeffrey Campbell sandals (from last year)
ah, the racerback dress. very nice. did you have to hem yours a bit? i haven’t worn mine yet, and currently it looks to be a tad bit long on me.
miss sophie’s last blog post..summer linen at steven alan
i didn’t hem it, i had my tailor take it up at the shoulders – i think that worked better for me anyway, i needed the whole dress to come “up” a bit.
I have another question about length and fit of the James Perse items for you (and you all seem to be pro’s–I’m a newbie!): I wear a size L in GAP or JCrew tees, and I am 5’10” tall, so will James Perse maxi dresses and the tees in a size 4 work for me? (please say “Yes!”)
yes! i think the 4 would be perfect! that’s what i take, and i also do a L in all t-shirts (gap, j crew, splendid, etc.)
Thanks, Grechen! Sorry to bug you, but do you think the dress would be long enough for me? I love the way they look and seem to fit on others, but at 5’10” I was concerned about the length.
i have two maxi dresses and my black one is longer than my navy one. but i haven’t tried any of the new (this year’s) empire maxi dresses. the straps are adjustable though, so you can let them out as long as you’d like…i’m 5’3″ or 5’4″ or something and they hit the floor on me….does that help? LOL, probably it’s more confusing!
Actually, I’m used to being confused! No, seriously, it does help. Thanks!
