Because I didn’t have time to snap a proper outfit picture yesterday…and anyway, I’m sure you’ll see this combination again sometime in the next 10 days! Although I do have to admit, I cheated last night: my husband asked me (I was going to say nicely, but really he said to me “are you going to change your pants?” LOL) to change my pants before we met a friend of his for dinner. And I did. I wore my J Brand lovestory jeans with my JP white tee and Everlane cashmere sweater, so I only really cheated with the pants. But my husband REALLLLLLLLY hates my slouchy pants, and I actually do make an effort to not wear things he hates when we go out, because I don’t have to, but I didn’t take that into consideration when planning my 10 pieces for the challenge.
Which reminds me that I’ll have to remember that when packing for San Francisco – do not bring the JP crepe surplus pants. I think my Hope trousers will be okay, because they’re not nearly as slouchy in the back as the JP ones are. The JP pants stretch out SO MUCH with wear that they just become huge, so they’re not ideal for travel anyway, since they’re only good for one wear. Laurel would not approve.
I got my color done yesterday, but no cut (that’s next week) and I love it. It’s not quite as bright and blonde as before, but she worked with my existing ends and lightened up the roots to a very nice light brown, with dimension. I’m so happy with it. And I decided that I’m going to keep growing my hair out, no bangs, for a while and see how I like it. She’s going to thin it out A LOT so I can get a straighter, edgier look as it grows, since I have a ton of hair. I’m looking forward to that. And I’m glad I finally made a decision!!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!! My new Pure Barre Studio in Plano is celebrating their 1st anniversary (congratulations Jill!) so we’re going to that party and afterwards FINALLY going to try True Food kitchen, which I’ve been dying to go to since we moved here. What are your plans?
My husband doesn’t like some of my choices either… I care about what he thinks but I don’t let it drive all my choices. If he had his way I’d wear skirts and dresses all the time…Not going to happen!
on a daily basis i definitely don’t let him influence what i wear at all, but i do have other clothes that he doesn’t find so offensive, so i figure i can dress for him some of the time 😉 he appreciates it!
I am still wondering if I could do this 10/2 wks- I work in an office, and though it’s not suit/tie sort of place, my choices are somewhat constrained that way. For travel I love it. I should try. If I fail, I fail – but I won’t know if I don’t try!
For husbands – he wears clothing I like to see him in, so I return the favor. As Zanna & Grechen have said, it’s not a 100% of the time thing, but why not every once in a while? That’s a good partnership as far as I’m concerned.
I saw the color pic and love it! You look sleek and stylish. Funny, but my mate actually likes loose, slouchy pants. Probably, because he also wears them. Have a great trip!
Love the instapic of your new color! Can’t wait to see the trim, too.
Plans….My 15-yr old daughter is in the pit orchestra (Flute) for the HS play, “Once upon a Mattress,” so we’re going to that Sunday afternoon. Coffee with a pal tomorrow morning at my place. And unless I want my family to starve, probably should grocery shop!
(I am not upset at all that you cheated. It was an acceptable reason 😉 )
Has anyone seen the Uniform Project? It’s at the more extreme end of minimalism–the woman who started it wore the same dress for a year, designed as a fundraiser. The slideshows definitely provide some interesting ideas to accessorize the LBD,

I hadn’t heard of it, Jen, but I say kudos for doing it for SOOOOO long! I guess the charity was her motivator, so that helps where will-power is concerned. I couldn’t do it!!
I loved checking out the Uniform Project every day to see what she would wear! And then the followup year with new people and new uniforms, and then you could buy the uniform dresses. I never saw a style that struck me as “have to have” but I really admire the thought they put into designing the dresses for ultimate flexibility for creating different looks!
