I love Anthropologie as much as the next girl, and I really really really love to browse their catalogs, either online or off, but I find it really frustrating that they don’t list designers (at least they don’t all the time) for their products. A lot of the pieces are Anthropologie house brands, but they do carry Splendid, Joe’s, Frye, and other well-known brands in their stores & online. And since I never buy without shopping around first, Anthropologie online is frustrating. Except for shoes.
I learned this trick years ago, but it has helped me find lots of shoes cheaper (and for free shipping) than on Anthropologie’s site. When browsing an individual shoe page, there’s always one image that shoes the inside of the shoe; click on that, and then zoom over the brand name if it’s not easy enough to see in the main image. Voila! Now, you do a google search, or at least a search on endless.com (my favorite place to buy shoes) for the brand and find the shoe you want. Chances are it will be cheaper, and come with free, quick shipping.

This Biviel sandal is $190 at Anthropologie, plus you have to pay shipping, and you’ll have to pay sales tax if there’s an Anthropologie near you. Now, at endless.com the shoe isn’t much cheaper (.05 LOL), BUT they offer free 2-day shipping and NO sales tax. AND right now, they’re offering 20% off with their friends & family coupon (MYFRIEND through 5/20, valid on orders over $100) – so…who are you going to order from??
I do the same thing! Sometimes it’s difficult to see the label. In that case you can do a search by general description (e.g. clog, wedge, flat) and the site pulls up a results page where you can refine by label (and it lists them all!). Also, don’t forget to check amazon. Since they own endless, they still list some of the same stock on both pages at different prices (may be more OR less). A lot of the shoes have free super saver shipping just not the free return shipping. Though the 20% off FF is a great deal now (just wish it included Frye – I have my eye on a pair of wedges!).
i do this too! savvy shoppers unite!
