I know, this is blasphemy coming from a shopping/fashion blogger, but sometimes it kills me that holidays here in the US are so focused on consumerism. Not that I mind, necessarily, at least it gets major sales on a predictable schedule, and you know how I HATE to pay full price, but does there HAVE to be a major sale EVERY holiday? And does every holiday have to be about buying something for someone you love? (don’t EVEN get me started on Valentine’s day, etc…).
Nevermind though, because today is Labor Day and if you are a serious shopper like me, you’ll appreciate the sales, and since I’m not really doing much else today (it’s going to be 102 here you guys!), I’m going to shop. So far, I haven’t bought much, besides a sale bracelet from Madewell (sold out online), these Splendid pants from Revolve with their 25% off code (I returned them, the medium was too small, not sure I’ll re-order in large), and the carpenter pants by Black Crane (that haven’t arrived yet). But the day is still young…here’s what else I have my eye on (and am trying to talk myself out of…):
1 Demy Lee striped swing tee | $73 after GRECHEN20 code at Hampden Clothing
2 Vince silk pocket tee | $77 at Nordstrom
3 Alexander Wang Rockie | $636 at Otte after BS20 code for 20% off bags & shoes (I REALLY love the navy suede in this style)
4 Current/Elliot moto jeans | $109 at the Outnet (all sizes still available!)
5 ASOS jacket | $80 at ASOS after SUMMER4EVER code for 20% off (so very Isabel Marant..without the pricetag)
6 Madewell Peplum tank | $41 after BYESUMMER code for 30% off sale items at Madewell
PLEASE visit Grechen’s Codes for ALL of the Labor Day sales & coupons expiring today, there are TONS I haven’t mentioned here 🙂
What have you bought this weekend? anything? Or are you skipping these sales?
Ah, that Demy Lee striped top is killin’ me!! And I checked out the sale at Totokaelo and found thisYoji Yamamoto: http://totokaelo.com/store/products/yohji-yamamoto/ss13/back-stitch-jumpsuit/light-blue To die for!! And this dress by Jil Sander: http://totokaelo.com/store/products/jil-sander/ss13/nameless-woven-dress/wood. Sigh…So many good things…so little cash!
Oh, and my husband would be the first person to agree with you about sales being tied to Holidays. It drives him crazy (he’s about the LEAST materialistic person I know. So I probably drive him crazy, too. 😉 )
Especially when I tell him that “Valentine’s Day” was named for ME!!
Haha! I bet that kills him 😉
love that demy lee top…i’ll have to get it eventually.
and totokaelo always has amazing things, sadly, the black crane pieces hardly ever make it to sale, so i had to get those pants at full price. but i’d been looking for a pair like that forever, so i was willing to do it…hopefully they’ll be perfect!!!
Oh, I just love the comments! We just returned from a family weekend away….I sure would LOVE to shop, but, my husband, too, thinks sales are just “an excuse to shop!”:) He also just mourns the “unofficial end of summer”, so, no shopping for me. But!!! My boys go back to school tomorrow, and I will now really have time to peruse your fabulous finds! They are so in line with what I love (it’s how I found you in the first place!) that I will be able to think and purchase! I love the Madewell peplum tank and the ASOS jacket! (My goal this year is to add some touches that are not typically in my style! All kinds of “fashion” goals this year!)
As always, all the best to you, and thank you for your great posts and information! Enjoy your holiday!

I meant to say something about those pants. I love them! Can’t wait to see how you style them!
I was not planning to make any purchases this weekend, and wait a little longer and stick to my fall shopping list, but then I found some things that 1) fit what I was looking for, and 2) were a great deal.

and these boots, because, well, at $45, why not try them?

Ok, now that I’ve listed it all it seems like a lot…but that’s most of my “fall” shopping, especially given that it will be 80 degrees for the next two months in NorCal. I’m waiting for either the Rag & Bone or Theory blazers with the leather sleeves to go on sale…
AMAZING buys jen. i couldn’t believe the prices at rebecca taylor – and i love those 10 crosby pants (of course!) – don’t be nervous!!!! let me know how you like them. and the marais boots are so cool, i’ve looked at them before.
here’s to fashion goals!! the ASOS jacket is really cool – very isabel marant, but also something i wouldn’t normally wear, but i think i would if i had it…
i can’t either LOL – hopefully they’ll be just what i’m looking for.
