Rag & Bone Dre slim fit boyfriend jean | $139 until Monday
Paige Denim skyline skinny jean | $119
Hudson Nico black skinny jeans | $99
Remember when I wrote this post on why I pay more than $200 for jeans? And then remember my saying that you don’t HAVE to pay more than $200 for jeans? Well, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is the perfect time to get expensive jeans that aren’t actually expensive (do try to look for made in the USA though…), and that are still current.
Want some suggestions? (all of these are made in the US)

Have you purchased jeans during the anniversary sale? Any more suggestions?
Nordy’s had great jeans this year! I tried on the C/E stiletto and all the high rise jeans. The Joe’s fit was sort of life changing, but the fading was a deal killer. I got the Paige Skylines – they feel like they will stretch a lot, so got a size smaller than usual.
good point about the fading – i find that to be so critical lately; i tend to like a very uniform wash, with only very strategic fading! and if it’s not right, it’s off-putting. thinking back to the 8-10 year old jeans i finally parted ways with, it was the wash/fading not the fit that didn’t work for me anymore. so dated…
I always find the best designer jeans at these Norstrom sales … Rag & Bone is my personal favorite – such a good fit. 🙂

I bought my 4th pair of NYDJ’s. They are not $200 jeans but they are normally $120, and the Nordstrom sale is a good opportunity to buy the basic cuts that rarely go on sale. The Sheri skinny is my favorite cut– The legs are very slim but not skin-tight, so no “sausage” look; and the waist is high enough to prevent muffin top. (They hit right at the navel with about a 9 inch rise in front.) The “Barbara” bootcut is a nice basic jean as well. They are not high fashion but they are a modern cut that doesn’t look frumpy on me. And they come in petite sizes so I don’t have to get them hemmed.
