Cut away tank dress | $199
Dolman cropped fleece sweatshirt | $89
High-gauge tank dress | $99
Cotton linen lightweight parka | $199
James Perse added new items to the holiday sale late in the weekend…I still haven’t bought anything, but I had that dolman sleeve sweatshirt and short tank dress on my list of things I was interested in. I love the sweatshirt because it seems more cropped, and like a more “plush” fleece than their old school sweatshirt (of which I have two already). And I was interested in the short high gauge tank dress as a simple, easy dress (with pockets) for summer; I also love the high gauge fabrication – so soft. Both of them are priced really well right now.
What did you order on sale at James Perse? What did you think of your order? Any fit/styling advice for fellow readers??
I’ve resisted everything so far– and was mildly annoyed to see a skirt I bought a couple of weeks ago on saw at Bloomingdale’s was marked down for $50 less at the JP sale!– but am tempted by the high-gauge tank dress. I think I tried it on earlier in the year, and I think I remember which size fit (my memory: it ran very large.) So I’m skittish, being final sale and all. But it’s a great price and something I would wear on heavy rotation.
In general, I’m finding JP sizing to be a bit unpredictable these days. Has anyone else noticed that? (I have JP stuff going back to 2008 or so, meaning I’ve got a fair amount of stuff to compare!)
Not on sale but I treated myself to the cable knit cashmere beanie, as incentive to join my sister walking her dog when it’s below freezing this winter. I have to cover my ears when it’s cold (or just avoid the outdoors entirely), but feel totally smothered by earmuffs or earbands. The hat arrived this week and I am surprised how much I like it! It’s got a little extra room so I can tuck my ponytail inside and it doesn’t feel binding at all. And – bonus – it doesn’t give me hat hair (at least, not during my test run inside the house).
oh! i’ve been searching for a new beanie…nice to hear that one is so nice. i can’t do earmuffs or headbands either, because of my glasses…but i love a well-fitting beanie!
