I can’t stop wearing this James Perse Casual tee since I got it. I have owned white, black & grey JP casual tees for 10 years, and still have all of them, though quite a few are relegated to layering/around-the-house/exercise only at this point because they’re too big, and/or stained. And here I thought that the Laundress Stain solution could get out ANYTHING, but I got a few dark spots on the sleeve of my white casual tee several weeks ago and those are NOT coming out – I have no idea what they are. So, another one for the layering/home pile.
Anyway, when I went to James Perse to buy this black one, I discovered that I need to buy size 1, so I’ll replace my white one with a smaller size ASAP. I would just like to repeat, again, for the billionth time, that this is my favorite t-shirt. Ever. And I’ve tried all the t-shirts. It’s a pretty basic t-shirt, and I do own other t-shirts – I like a good drapey tee too, and a crew neck for layering – but at the end of the day, I could have only this tee, and be fine with it. More than anything, I think the length is what gets me on this one; it’s perfect for ME. Not too long, not too short. Just right. And so soft. And the scoop neck. The sleeves too…10000% worth the price.
That’s the thing with James Perse and I though, and why I am so loyal to the brand – it just always fits me exactly like I want it to. And makes me feel like me. I am so lucky to have found that in a brand, I know. What is your fits-every time, go-to brand??
And man…I love this skirt 🙂 I’m going to wear it as much as possible before it gets too cold..
I bought a JP l/s tee second hand many years ago. It stretched terribly with wearing (would just HANG) and put me off the brand. Anomaly or something to expect?
It totally depends on what type of tee it is. The slub tees definitely stretch and can loose shape over time, as do some of the blends but I’ve never had that happen with the basic tees
My go to is Velvet by graham and spencer. I’ve been wearing his brand religiously ever since I discovered it in a small boutique in Savannah sometime around 1998! Their clothes easily make up at least 75% of my wardrobe and their tees and tanks have the most fab fit. Funny enough Ive tried James Perse several times and I just don’t like the fit of those on me LOL.
I have yet to find a brand where everything fits the one I want. I have this one shirt from Blue Canoe that I got a couple of years ago. It is my favorite shirt. But I haven’t been able to find the same style again. I may have another year and then it will have to be retired.
I love this look on you! Seriously, that skirt looks gorgeous. I’m so glad you are keeping it!! I would love to find a really good plus size t-shirt. I always end up getting mine at Target or Old Navy and they are sooooo thin and flimsy.
You look great, Grechen – love the skirt (and the bag) and the t-shirt!
That skirt is so unique! And perfect with your JP Casual tee. I still have mine in navy from 6 or 7 yrs ago and it’s still great. My go-to brand would probably be Vince. I can count on it to fit my frame and look modern and simple.
I love this outfit on you, Grechen! Fabulous skirt.
You might try lemon juice and salt on the stain for the white shirt. Put salt over the stain, squeeze some lemon juice over that, and let sit for as long as desired. I got a rust stain out of my white Everlane V-neck this way! I let it sit for a few hours, and the stain was gone!
brilliant!! thanks for the tip 🙂
Have you tried Oxiclean on the stain? It’s worked on every stain I’ve tried (even mystery stains on thrift store items). Just don’t use it on silk or wool. Love the outfit!
