It’s SLOWRE’s first anniversary!!! Well, actually it was late last month, but there was too much going on, and I wanted to combine the “celebration” with Earth Day so I waited.
I could not be more grateful for and humbled by all the love and support you all have given my little pre-loved sustainable style shop. Over the last year, I’ve received more than 300 orders and almost 500 items on consignment!!! WHOA.
To celebrate, I’d like to offer free shipping on all US orders with code PRELOVED through 4/22 (Earth day!). The code is only good once per customer. By the way, I always ship to Canada for a flat rate of $15. And will ship internationally as well, you just need to contact me so I can estimate shipping costs.
Speaking of shipping, after this free shipping promo is over, shipping on orders under $250 to the US will be a flat rate of $9.95. This is an increase from the previous shipping policy, and here’s why:
- There is no such thing as free shipping. Shipping is EXPENSIVE!! As a very very very small business, with minimal margins, I just can’t afford to continue to lose money on shipping.
- I will be transitioning to all easily recyclable/paper packaging over the next month or so. Everything will ship in boxes instead of plastic shippers (those are recycled/recyclable, but not in all locations) and will use minimal shipping materials – NO PLASTIC!!
- Nearly all orders will ship USPS priority mail (2-3 day delivery) and within 24-hours of receipt. Instant gratification is real 🙂
It was a tough decision for me to increase my shipping rates, but my choice was to increase prices, or decrease the amount of commission I pay to consignors to make up for my shipping losses, and I didn’t want to do either of those. So, I hope you understand!
On to some things in the shop I love:
Oak leather jogger pants – large | $50!!!!
These are new with tags, and I think they fit a medium better than a large, although I’m sure the leather will stretch (I don’t have any experience with leather pants!!). They’re very cool, cropped, and have tons of pockets. Someone buy these please so I’m not tempted anymore !!
Hope Stockholm News Trousers (size 40) | $40
Hope Stockholm Blazer (size 40) | $40
Everlane tee (not for sale)
CYDWOQ sandals (37, handmade in the US) | $145
uh…the perfect summer “suit”?? I’m completely in love this outfit. The News trousers are a bit big on me at the waist/hips in this size, but are tight in my calves/legs generally. They would fit someone a size larger than me with smaller legs very well, or my size, very slouchy. The blazer is a bit large on me, but not by much, and so good. Very nicely cropped, and so well made. And the sandals are AMAZING. I’m surprised they’re still in the shop…they’re almost brand new.
Mociun hemp/silk blend tie-front dress (medium) | $150
Robert Clergerie Frazzia sandals (38.5) | $85
If I had a summer wedding to go to this year, or a spring, or a fall wedding, or any fancy event, I’d like to wear this dress. It’s stunning. And fits well; it would also fit someone larger than me, with a bigger bust very well since the tie is adjustable. There are a couple of hook & eye closures underneath the tie that can be closed, or left open depending on how much skin you want to show! This tie-front style is highly coveted, and of course Mociun doesn’t design clothing anymore, so it’s quite a collector’s item.
The sandals are incredible, of course, and will fit a size 7.5 best in my opinion – 38.5 is “my” Robert Clergerie size as a size 8, but I always found these to feel a little smaller than I liked.
Seamly Co Convertible Jumpsuit (small/medium, made of surplus fabric in the US) | $65
Robert Clergerie Frazzia sandals again
This jumpsuit is really cool – I don’t do it justice since it’s a little too small on me in the hips. The material is a rayon blend, and really comfortable, and you can wear it a million different ways, even just as pants.
Oh, you definitely do that jumpsuit justice, it looks fantastic on you!
I totally agree! I saw the jumpsuit photos and thought “she’s saved the best for last.” Very chic, with a somewhat retro (but VERY modern) Studio 54 vibe 🙂
haha!! you guys, it’s too small on me!! (I don’t even have it all the way zipped up) – but i agree, it’s really cool. i hope someone buys it!!
Congrats on SLOWRE’s bday! I love love love that jumpsuit! It wouldn’t fit me in a million years, but you look fantastic in it. The Hope news trousers are great, too.
I just bought it! The Seamly website took down the jumpsuit tutorial though because it’s out of stock. I’ll play around with it to see what I can come up with. Happy birthday to your company!
yay!!! oh man…they had it up just a week or so ago! i think i saw that they’re launching a new version, so hopefully they’ll put it back up soon. i would just play around with it and see what you come up with.
i hope you love it 🙂
