Eileen Fisher stretch organic cotton dress | ON SALE!!!! (I’m wearing an XS)
Karen Walker Deep Freeze sunglasses | so old…I think the “Deep Worship” style is the new version? I love them
Just some evidence (if you don’t follow me on Instagram) that I do actually WEAR this dress. This was a couple weekends ago at a BBQ festival here where a friend was manning the smoker for Southwest airlines and handing out brisket. My husband can’t pass that up. Me…meh. But I enjoyed the beer – I’ve found a new favorite: Dallas Blonde by Deep Ellum Brewery Co. Fitting, huh? LOL And I am NOT a fan of “light” beers, my beer of choice has always been Guinness…but summer calls for a more “refreshing” beer.
Anyway, my husband loves this dress on me and joked about being able to find me in the sea of people because I was wearing such a bright dress. And now it’s on sale for $118. Totally worth it, and highly recommended. Although please note that I’m wearing an XS, which is a size down from my usual (if there is such a thing as “usual” at Eileen Fisher) size. I tried on all the sizes and settled on XS so it wasn’t so overwhelming on me. FYI, I got a size small in this viscose dress, and it fits beautifully.
Also, thank you so much to everyone who left advice, words of encouragement, etc. on my post about Dagny yesterday. It was a tough day yesterday; she didn’t eat ANYTHING at all, and she usually eats just a little something, so she was just lethargic and sad all day. So we’re off to the vet this afternoon and will hopefully come away with a plan and some ideas on what to do to help her feel better.
Oh, and now today I have a UTI. UGH. Happy Tuesday!!!! 🙂
Dear Grechen-
Good luck with Dagny, sending you more love and prayers. You do look great in this color with your blonde hair and the frames’ tortoise compliments the colors.
I missed your Dagny post! I wish you good luck with her – I’m sure it’ll all work out, with all the love she gets 🙂 I have no experience with dogs myself (just cats – and many of them highly neurotic) but my sister does a lot of work with a rescue group (including transports) and several shelters and has two rescue dogs of her own. I’ll see if she has any experiences to share. I know she has used the Thundershirt and had some success with it.
Love to you!
Even tho I don’t have a dog, I think Dagny is the cutest ever with those ears! I hope you find a solution and that she’ll be fine. They sure have a way of getting to our hearts, don’t they?
(Love you in the red dress and specs! And I knew you’d be a Guinness girl…me, too!!!)
*fingers crossed* things go well for you and Dagny at the vet! She’s so lucky to have you – some people give up on pups at the first sign of trouble. I’m sure you’ll be able to find a solution to help her relax and get back to enjoying life!
And I second (or third, or fourth) everyone on the red dress! It looks stunning on you!
Poor Dagny! And poor you! Hope you both are on the mend…
Classic Texas lady look! I love it. I moved to the Pacific Northwest recently (from Central Texas) and sorely miss the bright, blonde sweet Texas lady vibes. Everyone wears “gear” around here: lots of black, rain jackets, rubbery rain boots and pants. Not so much color and skin — even come summer. Admittedly, I don’t (and never have) worn much color myself. But there is just something to seeing a lady in bright pink, bright red or a purple that puts a smile on my face. Thanks for showing me a little bit of the Texas I love.
I’m so sorry to hear about Dagny! My wire haired fox terrier was plagued with all sorts of issues every since he came to live with us, from thyroid and liver problems to horrible skin and flea allergies to pain and arthritis. It’s so hard to watch your baby suffer. We tried so many things, diet change, homeopathic remedies, specialist , we even took him to a nutritional blood analysis.
Although some natural things worked (tea tree oil on hot spots) others didn’t and he had to go on a pretty strict regiment of pills. At first I felt bad, like it was a failure on my part to keep him healthy, but I decided that the quality of his life was more important than the quantity. If he was happier and more at ease on the medication who was I to keep messing with it.
It’s hard. Especially when they can’t talk and tell you what exactly is wrong. The choice you make is the right one. Hugs 🙂
haha! thanks elise! i rarely wear color either , but i couldn’t resist this dress when I was in florida a few weeks ago 🙂
