Lauren Manoogian Folk Dress (size 1)
Birkenstock Birko-flor arizona sandals (I purchased these secondhand)
Wearing/Buying
I got this dress a while ago with a good discount from Totokaelo (it’s on sale now) and have worn it a few times already. It’s wonderful. And has pockets. It’s great for around the house and in the air conditioning, but not so much outside, so I think I’ll save it for wearing more this fall, or wear it if I’m going out to eat or something haha, where the a/c seems to always blow right on me. If you checked my Instagram lately, you know I referred to this a tent, but a glorious one. Of course I love a good tent dress, so it’s no surprise, generally, but especially now that I’m growing a human, and have this big frontal bump, I care so little about wearing things that might be “flattering” – as if I ever have – and literally just want to be as comfortable as possible.
Check.
Reading/Watching
In the Future We’ll all be Wearing Eileen Fisher – I think most of us here are fans of Eileen Fisher, and not just because we’re “of a certain age,” but this article is still an interesting read.
Amy Wilson might be the only person in NYC dressed like a gardener who actually is one – Mostly I just thought the headline was funny. Jumpsuits and Clogs…jumpsuits and clogs…I’m a huge fan of gardener chic 😉
Tips for getting Synthetics out of your wardrobe – there’s nothing much new here, but since I was talking about natural and synthetic fabrics the other day….
Have you heard of For Days? They are a new clothing company (who knows what they’ll produce, besides t-shirts) from whom any purchase you make is infinitely returnable/recyclable/exchangeable. Basically, you buy a t-shirt for $38 and then you can send it back to them and get a new one anytime for just $8. FOREVER. Sounds great, but I have about a million questions. For example, forever is a VERY long time. Seems like “forever” will be determined by how long they’ll be able to afford to do this, which for a lot of clothing companies isn’t very long. Anyway, interesting concept, I’m interested in trying a t-shirt once the waitlist clears? or whatever is supposed to happen??
Doing
I guess I need to work on my baby registry? Start getting serious about some things?? 😉
Otherwise I plan to spend the weekend with my feet up, reading. Maybe binge-watching Poldark. What about you?
I’ll be relaxing feet up, getting a badly needed mani/pedi. That and laundry.
80 this weekend after a week in the mid-90s, so I need to catch up on weeding! We lost power (storms moving through) last night for a few hours and had an unexpected dinner on the porch, enjoying some adult beverages & chatting. A very nice break from the norm of dinner + tv….
No big plans – regular household chores, then hopefully reading & more adult beverages on the porch 😉 Should finish up Hollow of Fear today – 3rd in mystery series about Charlotte Holmes who solves mysteries as “Sherlock” Holmes. Good series! [I adore mysteries! I finished all the Agatha Christie books the summer I was 11 I think….I’d read all the “kids” mysteries by then and was ready to move on to the adult options….]
