Madewell oversized shirt (very very old!)
Esby turtleneck sweatshirt (purchased secondhand from slowre)
Elizabeth Suzann clyde trench (small)
Dansko clogs
Wearing/Buying
I bought these James Perse pants one size up when they went on sale at Shopbop this week. I may or may not be considering buying another jumpsuit (long sleeve this time!!) to get me through the next couple of months. I’m cold, and bored with all my clothes. I know…I know…
I’m not going overboard with anything, and I think I’ve got later maternity wear covered (my sister has some larger Eileen Fisher pants I can probably wear), I just need/WANT something new/different now. You know?
Reading/Watching
Finished watching Tidying Up and I really enjoyed most of the later episodes better than the first couple. I saw the wisdom of Marie’s positive, quiet way, as opposed to the freaked out way I would have handled it LOL – I’m not a minimalist I don’t think, but seriously, I think most of the clients still had SO MUCH STUFF. I don’t know how people live with that much stuff. But I have always been very anxious around clutter and stuff…
I’m reading Circe right now and enjoying it? I wouldn’t say it’s amazing, but I love mythology/gods/goddesses, so it’s an interesting read.
I watched most of Homecoming on Amazon – It’s good. Weird, but good.
What are you guys watching? reading? I’m open to ANY suggestions!!
Doing
Patiently waiting for my appointment on Monday 😉 And then the follow-up.
what are you doing this weekend?
Have you watched Forever on Amazon? Just like your description of Homecoming, it’s weird but good. Lol. The pace is a little slow. I’m a big fan of both Maya Rudolph and Fred Armisen, so that was a big draw for me personally 🙂 I also think you’d love Maya’s character’s clothes in the show! I sure did!
Supposedly it’s summer here but it started raining at 6pm last night and has just stopped. I think I’ll do a bunch of housework this morning and hope that it dries up enough to mow my lawns this afternoon!
I’ve not been reading much other than scientific papers for my job (which after a while makes my brain total mush). I finished Tara Westover’s book last week…..if anyone has any recommendations in that vein, I’d love to hear them.
I’ve been watching QB1 on Netflix……I’m finding your football culture FASCINATING. The pressure on these 17/18yos? Insane. We just don’t have anything like that here (NZ), even with our rugby obsession. Prior to that I watched Dark Tourist, which I found incredibly frustrating (why on earth would you expose yourselves to those kinds of things?!). I tried to watch Tidying Up but I only got half way through the first episode.
Have a great weekend Grechen
Cute hair!
Homecoming was strange. Not my fave. I liked “Bodyguard” – pretty exciting!
Money Heist (Casa de Papel) on Netflix is terrific! It’s a little like 24 in that each episode spans only an hour or so of action – a group of kidnapers have taken over the Spanish Mint. But unlike 24, it’s more suspenseful and cleverly plotted than violent and completely unbelievable. It’s in Spanish with subtitles or dubbed. Highly recommend!
Watch Recommendations: Just blew through “You” (Netflix), a creepy series about obsession. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (Netflix), sweet teenage romcom. Molly’s Game (Showtime), true story starring Jessica Chastain about a young former Olympic athlete who ran high stakes poker games. I plan to watch Birdbox soon although I’m wondering if I should read the book first. Unreal (Hulu), dark fictional story of the behind the scenes of a reality show. Forever (Amazon), quirky comedy about the afterlife.
Read Recommendations: 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami (listened to on audio books). Little Black Stretchy Pants about the founding of Lululemon. Educated by Tara Westover. Crazy Rich Asians (& sequels) by Kevin Kwan. Facism by Madeline Albright. The Cool Factor by Andrea Linett (old but good and still relevant). Best Day Ever by Kaira Rouda. I’ve also been enjoying some light chick lit novels by Julie Caplin (Little Cafe in Copenhagen, Little Brooklyn Bakery) – all involve food, travel, love and friendship.
Love the outfit! I also bought the JamesPerse leggings after you recommended and they are now my favs.
You look so great!
i did like bodyguard…
i did watch forever when it first came out. i’m glad i watched it, and yes, i LOVE maya rudolph and her outfits (ace & Jig and clogs!!!), but i felt like it fell a little short of the mark sometimes. like it could have been a little funnier?
I agree with you. I especially found the ending to be disappointing – maybe a bit of a cop-out? I listened to the Pop Culture Happy Hour podcast episode about Forever, and one of the panelists said that she felt like the show was daring her to grow bored of it and eventually, she did. Lol. That made me laugh. I waffled between wishing it were funnier and trying to appreciate the fact that it let things be awkward/unresolved.
You look so good in this outfit! The Clyde trench has been climbing my ES list the more I see real people styling it.
