It’s time for an Everlane update, no? I haven’t been too very excited about some of the new launches lately, but they’ve all the sudden announced some interesting “coming soon” pieces that I can tell will be BIG hits. The sneakers, for one. Of course, I’m crushing on the white pair…
I do also LOVE the white sleeveless poplin shirt dress; I have it in my cart as we speak, trying to decide whether or not to order a small or a medium. I’m a little disappointed they’re not making more product in the US (all of the new stuff is made in China), but still, I respect their transparency and overall commitment to mindful production, so I do feel a little better about buying made in China from Everlane.
I’m also looking forward to the linen tees – that long sleeve one in particular. Although generally, I don’t like long sleeve linen because when you push the sleeves up they stretch out so much you can never get them back to “normal”. But linen tees? I love them, and wear them constantly in warmer weather.
Now, on to you. I’ve received some comments/emails here lately asking for reviews of things I haven’t purchased (like the anorak). If you have one, or anything Everlane, I’d love it if you could add your review here on this post and help out fellow readers! Especially if you’ve purchased the pants or anorak – I’d love to hear how the pants worked out. And what about the new silk habotai? That release passed me by completely, because even though I love it, I do not wear silk, no matter how much I try!
More new Everlane releases. What do you think?

leigh – I haven’t tried one of the dresses, but i did have a silk tank and it was VERY wrinkly FYI. i have a silk cami on order…i’ll report back on that one when i know!
Just washed my Everlane for the first time so I finally feel informed enough to leave a review, since everyone’s comments here were so helpful for me.
Sleeveless silk top: great cut, true to size (straight-sided, but not so loose I had to size down), lovely hand and slight sheen. I especially like the shoulder details. I put my light grey top in the washing machine on cold/delicate (as I’ve done with silk in the past) and it’s not ruined, but the feel is certainly different: crisper, less smooth/soft, and it air-dried very wrinkly. I also noticed what look like tiny textural flaws after washing, like loose/more transparent patches, and a surprise oil stain that I don’t remember seeing before washing. Mysteries! But honestly, regular dry cleaning is not in my budget, so I’ll see if I can get that stain out and try washing it in the sink next time.
Silk round collar: had to size down to an XS, despite not being willowy whatsoever, so sizing/cut is a little weird. I ordered Blush and they sent me Warm Tan* twice instead, so I can’t comment on the washing process. (*At least I think it was warm tan, and CS agreed? But it was a strange mauve/tan/liver color.)
Sleeveless poplin shirt in white: very crisp cotton, thin, sturdy-feeling though I would need a camisole. 2015’s version has no pockets, so it’s not quite the same as Grechen’s review. I sized down to an XS based on my bust measurements (34″) and it was bizarre: OK in the bust but with huge, very forward-set armholes, and just a sack hanging off me below that.
Long-sleeved poplin shirt: ordered an XS based on bust measurements but should try S instead, since it did that thing where the whole shirt moves when I raise my arms. Giant blousy sleeves. I thought this would look sleekly androgynous but it’s very much an older-woman-of-a-certain-era look, and the mauve color of pink didn’t help.
Overall, I’ve found that the colors don’t resemble what’s on the website, even with a calibrated monitor. I’m not super=pleased with how the silk washed (although yes, it does say dry clean only), so I’m glad I tried a few pieces but I think I’m done with experimentation.
wow, thank you marie, for your very thorough reviews!!
interesting about the silk – because i’ve heard that silk responds BEST to hand washing, or at least in the machine in cold water. i don’t have a lot of experience with silk, but i did have a silk tank (gave it to a friend) that seemed to work okay in the washing machine. no weird patches or texture surprises like yours.
sounds like your reviews echo what everyone else is saying, and myself, that sizing and quality is really inconsistent lately. i haven’t tried a lot of the new stuff lately for that reason, although i was sort of interested in trying the black sleeveless poplin shirt. and i do like their cashmere generally. hopefully things will solidify and become more consistent with the new designer…
I’m picturing “liver color” and thinking, “Ew!” Haha! 😉
um, yeah, i thought the same thing!
I love what everlane stands for however I purchased the black twill backpack and was very disappointed. It faded quickly while also bleeding significantly onto my clothes when wearing it. I haven’t had problems with any other products but I would avoid any dark coloured backpacks from them. Not worth it if you plan on using the backpack for more than a season.
thank you for that input anika!
I ordered these:
Ryan long sleeve top
Could do without the pockets. I think it’s an ok top, not sure if I could get this again.
Ryan muscle tank
No idea why I couldn’t find reviews of the muscle tank, but I have similar style of tees in my wardrobe which are pretty shredded now, so I got the muscle tank to replace them. The muscle tank is my favorite Ryan top by far. I love the rayon material and the cut of the muscle tank.
Ryan pocket tee
Second favorite ryan top after the muscle tank. Got this in a size S and I like the slightly baggy fit.
Ryan tank top
Threw this in the wash as a test and hang dried them. Was afraid of shrinkage but that didn’t happen, although the neckline did seem a bit twisty after that.
Ryan long sleeved dress
Have not worn or washed this yet, so can’t comment.
Short sleeved dress in gray denim
Didn’t see a lot of reviews on this dress either, but I got it because I love the slightly utilitarian style of the dress. I love the gray denim color and the fabric is so comfy. Wished it came with side pockets though!
Swing trench
I love this swing trench! I got it in sage and the color is gorgeous. The fit in S is just nice for me, perhaps the sleeves just a tad long but no big deal.
Silk round collar blouse in white
It appeared pure white on my computer screen but looked more to be cream white when I received it. I ordered an S, and I like that it’s slightly baggy on me. However after hand washing in cold water in the sink and steam ironing it, it shrank quite a bit. I may order an M next time just so that when it shrinks, I would get an S fit.
V-neck
I sized up to M to get a baggier fit and I love how soft it is.
Modern Loafer
Ordered a 7.5. I usually wear 7 for shoes and 7.5 for boots so I sized up since I intended to wear footsies with these loafers. Love these shoes, they are pretty comfortable given the reviews I’ve read about them.
I am contemplating the cotton sweater screw, chunky knit and U-neck for my next order.
I recently bought the anorak in the navy color. They call it “bright navy” which I was uncertain of, but it’s a nice very classical navy (not just one that is close to black). I am 5’7″ with a muscular build (about 125 pounds) and I ordered a small and it fits really well. The sleeves are long enough which is important for us taller people and it’s got enough space that I could layer a sweatshirt or sweater under if I wanted to. I was most curious about what the material would be and it’s pretty close to a traditional rain jacket. I think you could wear this when it’s a little cool outside and not overheat or layer it and wear it into the chillier months. The hood is also really great because it’s big enough to cover all of my hair. The front of the jacket hits right at my knees. I would definitely recommend this jacket.
I’ve got the Ryan tee in charcoal, silk point collar in grey, seed stitch grey terry, and the linen tank in cream. I’m very happy with the silk, it’s lovely and thick, and not very shiny. I have the small and I like how slouchy it is. The Ryan tee is not the best, it fits weird and and changed a lot after it’s first wash (I still wear it though, even a year later). It also went through the dryer accidentally and got several holes in the front. I love the sweatshirt, but wish I’d sized up (xs had short sleeves, and s doesn’t layer very well on me, for reference I’m normally an xs-s in tops). Linen tank is nice, side slits go up somewhat too high (higher than my pants normally), and I have trouble styling it sometimes.
My next shipment has the Ryan tank (I couldn’t hold off I wanted that navy, maybe it’s nicer!) and the texture tank in grey.
I picked up the texture crop tanks in grey and black. They’re both really lovely—a nice thicker cotton than the regular tank. The curved hem makes them super flattering. I’ve been wearing them with high-waisted skinny pants ans pencil skirts, and they look great. They’re not cropped so high that they’re impossible to wear without flashing belly.
I also got the linen tank in graphite. It washed really well (I did not put it in the dryer). It’s a little sheer, so I wear a nude bra under when I wear it to work. I didn’t have the problem with the high side vents others have mentioned, but they so go higher than other tanks I’ve purchased. Despite being flowy, it does tuck well into skirts and such.
Hi! I love your blog, especially your reviews of Everlane!
I have 3 of the older silk long sleeve round collar shirts, which I love but I lost weight and they are huge! Do you think there is some way I can shrink them?
I really like some of the Everlane items, especially the ones I have purchased. In regards to sizing, I am 5’6, 128lbs, usually wear a size 6 pants from BR or J Crew:
– slim fit pants: i have them in black and in navy. They are a very light wool, and have a good amount of stretch. I went with a size 6 and they fit absolutely perfectly. Even though they are wool, they are very light and I have been wearing them all summer with sandals. They do not stretch out of shape and don’t need ironing at all (apart from when they first arrived). I will but more of these as they are far nicer and more comfortable than anything I have purchased from the other usual places.
– u-neck tees. i have several and I really like them but on me they gap a bit so I have to wear a cami under them otherwise when I bend over anyone can get a real eyeful.
– v-neck tees. size small fits perfectly. very soft, love.
– loafers, LOVE. i have them in black and in olive and I wear these almost everyday when it’s not 80+ degrees. I do have a fairly slim foot, and on me they are incredibly comfortable. I usually wear a size 8 , and I sized up to an 8.5 in these.
– commuter shoes. I have these in blue and again in a size 8.5. incredibly comfortable. i use the magic eraser to keep the white sole clean and it works perfectly.
how do you wash the wool pants?
hmmm..interesting question. maybe someone has an answer? i certainly don’t have any experience with silk. my first thought would be that you just couldn’t shrink it without “ruining” it, but maybe that’s not the case? you might not be able to shrink them necessarily, but a good tailor should be able to take them in a bit and make them look better…
I hand wash silk all the time (both Everlane & other brands) and have always found that the texture is rough if air-dried. In my experience you really have to steam or iron it (I much prefer steaming, it’s super easy) to get back to the original hand feel.
First of all, love your blog! I’m learning so much!
I’m a 35 year-old mom who is in the process of putting together my first real, “grown-up,” post-childbearing-years wardrobe (in other words, my body has changed so much in the past four years that absolutely everything needed to be replaced). I also gravitate toward modern basics in black and greys, so Everlane was a good find for me (in addition to the handful of age-appropriate styles from Eileen Fisher). Here are my thoughts on the Everlane pieces I’ve recently tried and/or acquired. For reference, I’m about 117 lbs, 5’3″, very small bust, and typically wear sizes 2-4, XS-S petite clothing.
Silk tank (XS) — I bought this in black, and really like it. It’s more of an A-line than I typically would wear, but because it’s silk, it flows nicely and doesn’t make me look bigger than I am, as nearly all A-line cuts usually do for me. I don’t find wrinkling to be a huge problem with the black (I use a handheld steamer on my clothes each morning) but I also bought this top in slate grey, and the wrinkles tend to show up more on that one. I hand-wash with a bit of Burt’s Bees baby wash, and it comes out great each time. When I wash the black, the water is tinged a brownish color, but I haven’t noticed any major fading yet (I’ve washed maybe 4x). I’ll also add that I wear this with a black bra-top camisole from Uniqlo, and it works out great.
Silk sleeveless (XS) — I bought this in black. I kept it and like it, but not as much as the silk tank. I’m definitely not slim around the middle anymore (though my little ones were worth it 😉 and I find it’s ever so slightly more snug than I want it to be. If I’d known, I might have sized up…but I’ll address why it probably wouldn’t have mattered in a moment… I also wear this with a Uniqlo bra-top cami.
Habotai silk long-sleeve (S, grey) and silk pocket long-sleeve (S, black) — the colors and feel of the silk were lovely on these, but they went right back. Because of the fit of the XS silk sleeveless, I sized up on these other button-up styles, but they were comically large all around on me.
Cashmere cardigan (XS, dark grey) — this was a huge huge splurge for me, but it was worth every penny. The cashmere is thick and divinely soft, the color is a lovely heathered dark grey that goes with everything, and the fit is spot-on. Absolutely my favorite Everlane purchase thus far.
Texture tunic (XS, black) — I love the feel of this cotton; it’s soft and heavy at the same time. The black is a purply-black, which is pretty, but I wear it with either black leggings, skinny jeans, or a midi skirt, and the color is never a match — not a dealbreaker, but if you’re going for a monochromatic look, it might be. It’s a bit of a boxy fit on me; I’d describe it as “modern” and “not overly feminine,” if that makes sense, but I like it. It needs a camisole, because the arm holes are cut too low.
Wide-leg structure pant (2, then 0, black) — I wanted to try something different for me, so I went for it on this one. Holy vanity sizing, Batman! The 2 was far too large, so I returned it and got a 0, which is also a little bit big, but should be okay (plus I didn’t want to have to send it back yet again). I am never a 0 in anything, and for me to even be considering a 00 is ridiculous. They are fairly substantial, and I do like the fit — though they need to be tailored considerably (which I was aware of before purchasing, as it’s suggested on the website). They’ll be too hot to wear during the rest of the humid Massachusetts summer, but I think once they’re tailored and the weather cools off, they’ll be a nice change-up from my usual black skinny jeans and black jersey skirts of varying length.
That’s it for now…I dig Everlane and what they’re up to, but as for most folks who have commented, it’s hit or miss for me as well. I downloaded their slick new app and keep my eye on what’s “coming soon,” but I’m also curious to see what changes the new head of product and design will bring, and whether they’ll be positive for the brand or not. In the meantime, hopefully readers will continue to add their reviews here! 🙂
Hi, the pants are dry clean only. They hold up really well and hardly wrinkle or crease, even in the places that normally do if you are sitting all day (like me most of the time).
Way late here, but your reviews helped me make my decision to ignore the size chart and order from Everlane. I’m a true size 14 at 5’10, and the slub and long-sleeved ryan tees fit me perfectly in large, as does the marled sweatshirt. Regarding height, all the long sleeves are barely long enough for me . However, overall shirt length was great for all three, which made me happy. No pulling around the chest, which is a minor miracle at 36DD!
Love reading all these reviews! I have been eyeing Everlane for months and finally bought a few things. Anyone have feedback on the The Luxe Sweater Mid Sleeve in emerald? I am 42, 5″6″ 127#/muscular and got the small. In addition purchased the long sleeve linen tee in small/graphite and V neck faded black tee in small. I feel the v necks are going to be a regular part of my wardrobe. Now if you have their app on your phone you can get free shipping even if only 1 item. I also love Seamly-co for ethical clothing too if anyone has purchased her items. Following your blog now, thanks! Carie
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s tried any of Everlane’s white buttondown shirts… I have my eye on the linen-cotton blend long sleeve, but it looks like it’s pretty sheer, so I keep hesitating. I keep looking at the poplin shirts too, but I’m not usually a big fan of poplin and wish they would offer the same silhouette in an all-cotton oxford in a substantial, menswear-quality fabric. Really hard to find in women’s sizes… Any women tried the men’s version of the long sleeve linen shirt?
Also wondering if anyone can tell me whether I’d be better off with a S or an XS in the women’s shirts. 5’5″ 115# broad-ish shoulders but small bust (32B). I’m often between sizes. Don’t love my clothes to be super slouchy, but also hate too tight. Seriously on the fence.
i have the linen/cotton sleeveless shirt, and it is sheer, but i just wear a cool black bra underneath and i’m good. ..and i got a size small, but that one runs big IMO.
and honestly, sizing seems to be ALL OVER THE PLACE, so i’m not sure what to recommend. hopefully someone who’s closer to your size will have some input!
Hi, did anyone try the Ponte items including the full-length dress? Thanks!
I got the Ponte skirt in S (I am usually 0-2; XS-S in Everlane tops/0 in Everlane bottom; 5’3″). The S fits nicely on me with longer length, and it’s a bit a-line so I could actually ride my bike with it. At first, I was afraid that the Ponte material would be too cotton-jersey like which might accentuate one’s natural belly but it was quite nice actually with the likeness of a cotton skirt but a more nice weight. I was originally wavering between XS or S because I am afraid that the waist might be too big. It’s just a tiny bit bigger than my natural waist but the A-line fits through butt, and I don’t like clingy stuff.
I also got the clean edge long-sleeve tee in Nutmeg (XS) in this purchase, and I quite like it also. Although the color is neutral but it has a nice sheen, and the double-edge folded seams (not sure if that’s what’s called) actually has a paperly kind of handfeel, but I like it. Though I will see how it holds up to wash.
Hi! I’ve purchased a lot of items from Everlane over the last year or so, but have really struggled with quality control. Their customer service, however, cannot be beat.
Here’s what I’ve purchased:
Black Chelsea Boots Size 7: I’m between a 7 and 7 1/2 and even though these are more true to size, I should have sized up a half size because they are still a bit narrow (and I have fairly narrow feet). I wore these for two weeks on vacation and the sole cracked and leather showed signs of shredding near the sole on the sides (strange).
Black Leather Street Shoe Size 7: They sent me two defective pairs (one with sharp exposed seam, and another pair where one shoe was visibly larger than the other, even though they were marked the same size). Last pair worn well for a while, but let’s in water at toes in light rain- bummer.
Black Modern Point Size 7 1/2: Was initially sent one pair with the leather very wrinkled where attached to the sole, second pair seems fine but haven’t worn much due to winter weather.
Black Modern Loafer Size 7 1/2: Was initially sent the wrong size, the second attempt was lovely. Have only worn once so will have to report back on how they hold up.
Black Petra Market Tote: Arrived gorgeous, will have to report back on how it holds up.
Black V Necks XS: Had two arrive with discoloration around the neck, but customer service corrected issue.
White V Necks XS: Love them, no problems.
Black Luxe Cardigan XS: Drapes lovely, feels very soft. Will have to report back at end of season.
Grey Terry Sweatshirt XS: Was my absolute favorite, so so soft, but pilled horribly after a few wears.
Black Beanie: Love this, so soft.
Black, White and Charcoal Long Sleeved Ryan tee XS: Haven’t worn much but no problems so far. Drapes nicely, held up nicely post wash (hand-washed).
I love the designs and the customer service is phenomenal, and has gone above and beyond to fix every issue. I do feel like they are releasing too many products too quickly and the quality control is suffering greatly.. My biggest issues have been the shoes so far. Ironically, I attended the Room Service Event and tried on all the shoes but what was delivered wasn’t the same quality. Still heart-broken about those Chelsea Boots as they were my absolute favorite.
Hi! I stumbled upon this website – thanks Grechen! I’m also in my 40’s and am a big Everlane fan. Here is a list of items I have from them so far. For reference I am 5’2″ and about 118 #. I hope I remember the names of the items correctly:
Anorak – in XS midnight. I don’t mind that it’s not true black because it makes it more interesting. Fits well except the back is slightly long for me. Hits just slightly below the back of my knees and I wish it is one inch shorter. I originally opted to return it but then a rainy day came and I used it. It flows nicely when unzipped, and I like the uniqueness of the hem. Overall I’m happy with it.
Wool cardigan (XS) from 2014 in slightly darker gray but not charcoal. This is the one with the collar – I love this sweater. It has a rounded shape in the back and I wear it like a coat because it is a very substantial weight. It was my first sweater from Everlane. Some people find it pilled easily and I agree though.
Wool cardigan (2015) in both gray (this is a lighter gray) and black. Material is just as heavy as the previous one but this version’s neckline is flat not collar. It does not pill as easily as previous year’s one. Perfect worn over a T-shirt or poplin shirt.
Wool sweater long cardigan/coat in black (XS) – I wear this like a coat. It’s absolutely beautiful. At this price point you cannot find something of this level of quality.
Beanie in black – not too heavy therefore not for extreme cold weather, but nice deep black.
T-shirts in U-neck, V-neck, and drop-shoulder – the V-neck is the most slim fit so need to size up (I have the medium). The drop-shoulder runs big so size down (I have the XS). The U-neck is somewhere in between so I have both the XS and S. The fabric is very soft; I sleep with them too.
Silk tank in XS. I got the one with the designs, one in black and one in white. I love how they fit in that there is a slightly lower hem in the back. A-line shape.
Silk long sleeve in XS. I have the one with the designs, also in both black and in white. They both fit very well.
Cotton tank in white and black (XS and XXS) – same material as the T-shirts. Very soft. Also A-line. Great for layering under a shirt or sweater or alone.
Swing trench in Navy – I got this in 2014 and really like to shape of it. The only thing is the sleeves are bit long. I got mine in a S but probably couldn’t gotten an XS. The fabric is just right for a trench and for my height it is flattering. I am eyeing the regular trench in tan now but it keeps getting sold out!
Sleeveless cotton dress in chambray/light blue (XS) – It is very flattering and perfect for my height; the fabric is very very soft. I have not washed this one yet so do not know how it will hold up.
Striped sweatshirt (XS) – slightly dropped shoulder with a heavy weight material. Sleeves are on the short side even for me. I love the side slits but some might find it a little too high. I also have the St. James one (the one for women) but that one is lighter, with no side slits, and is not as boxy. I don’t mind the boxiness of the everlane striped sweatshirt.
Sleeveless poplin shirt in white (XS) – fits well, good quality poplin. The “sleeveless” part is narrower than muscle tank which I like. The sleeveless fits like the chambray cotton dress I have.
Petra casual tote in black – this is the one with the brown piping on the side. It does not have a hard bottom and is unlined. It is very soft leather and I use it literally very casually. It is very well-made. I like the size of it which is not too big like the Madewell transport tote. I had originally considered the Madewell transport tote but decided against it because of the size or it and the sub-par reviews from some people about the quality. As a side note, another tote which I love is the Mansur Gavriel tote. I use that (the small one) on “fancier” days and the petra casual at other times.
I forgot to name a few more items that I have from Everlane:
The waffle knit tunic (XS, Navy) – heavy weight and warm. It could be even smaller but they don’t have a smaller size and a little baggy is fine as a tunic. The knitting/weave is great quality, as is the merino wool. I love the side slits and is perfect over leggings.
The sweater long-sleeve (charcoal) – this is more a marled color (which I prefer) than smooth charcoal. I got this in XS and S. Both fit well with the S bigger for layering. It’s soft wool and on the thin side but not as thin as their Luxe collection. This is a keeper!
These items I bought but returned:
Relaxed poplin – the new arrival that did not fit me well. I loved the bright whiteness and the quality of the fabric; but it is meant to be oversized, and the 00 was still too big and long on me.
Slim-fit poplin – the other new arrival in shirts – I ordered a 0 and it was slightly too tight. Shoulders are cut narrow. The fabric, compared to the relaxed poplin, is smoother. I didn’t bother to exchange for a 2. In the market to look for a perfect white button down.
Capsule collection E1 sleeveless turtleneck – XS, black – This is almost a statement piece in structure and form. I love everything about it except that the side slits (and I love side slits!) are too high for my taste. The turtleneck is very cozy and long ( you can fold or let it look scrunched) but for me it was a little tight. So I returned it.
Linen long sleeve – I returned this one because the linen was not soft and it was too big.
Double-knit dress – too big and baggy on me.
Chunky wool crew neck – I bought this along with the chunky cardigan in 2014. The cardigan fit fine which I kept (see above), but the crew neck (in S) was too short for my taste.
Luxe sweater long sleeve (XS, black) – very soft and thin. Did not drape well on me. Too long. Had to return.
That’s all for now! I just bit the bullet and bought the everlane trench. Will let you know how that goes.
wow, thank you SO MUCH for adding your reviews – that’s so helpful!!
Hi! Just needed to add my two cents. For reference, I am 5’4″, 125 pounds 32D and definitely have a “mummy tummy” going on. Agree that customer service is amazing. Dare I say, better than Nordstrom? First the bad, then the good…
Fails:
I wanted to love the new Go Weave track pants so much, and there is a warning about women under 5’5″ needing special tailoring to make them work. I ignored it because I am short-waisted so have longish legs, but these pants were all kinds of wrong for my body. It was the looser fit in the thighs that did not work. I tried a size 6 and 8, both worn high on the waist. 8 was huge, 6 could have worked, but just looked so silly on my short waist. Oh well!
Love the Modern loafer but I did not order the right size. I have it in brown-black patent. Am a size 7, but missed the note to size up (bought them the day they came out last year, so didn’t read details carefully). Should have bought 7.5, but got the 7, wore them anyway and just put up with the discomfort. Now after baby number two, I tried wearing them again, and I just can’t do it anymore. Will have to resell them (or consign them wink wink).
Ryan tees: I had the tank and the tee, but the pilling was awful!
I have had success with these:
-swing trench — just perfect for me. high-quality. love it. Tried size S but then exchanged for a M because I wanted to be able to layer with it.
-silk tank — I have an older one in marigold which is the perfect color but I just have a hard time taking care of silk. EVERLANE, PLEASE MAKE WASHABLE SILK!! Tried S but exchanged for M (I was too busty for the small).
-high-low belt in small. perfect.
-U-neck in heather grey size small. My go-to tee. The small still has a loose fit, which I like. Washes well.
-Box cut tee in muted black in size S. This tee is great, but I just can’t figure out how to wear it without it looking too masculine.
-Cotton V in white size small. Perfect white tee.
-Crew sweatshirt in navy marled. I went with the size large in this one. (I was preggo when I bought it.) It has a great fit during pregnancy and postpartum. I like the looser fit of the size large.
-Most recent purchase was the short sleeved shirt dress in size medium and I am in love. Would wear it every day. But that darn dry clean only label. WHY?? Anyone wash this dress?
thanks for your input!!
i would NOT dry clean that dress, i would wash it in cold water (maybe on delicate) and hang it to dry. it’ll get wrinkled, but that’s an easy fix. i don’t dry clean anything….
Right! So… I goofed and misspoke (mis-typed?) and I have washed that dress and hung it to dry. What I was actually lamenting is not being able to put it in the dryer. The style details note says tumble dry low, but the tag says hang to dry. I am too lazy to iron! boohoo!
I just bought the GoWeave Crop trousers and really like them. They are higher waisted than I am used to but the fabric is terrific and really like the fit (slim but not tight). Got my regular size 2 and they are a little big but I don’t think I would want to size down. I did have to shorten them (I’m 5’4”) so they were cropped but I didn’t mind.
I also bought the slim crew in navy/white stripe and love it! I sized up to a small because I didn’t want it to be clingy and it is perfect!
In have the cashmere boyfriend cardigan in fog which I wear all the time and love. I did purchase the long sleeve heavyweight striped tee. I really liked the heft of it but found that I never reached for it so passed it along.
Just discovered this site. So pleased to read the reviews. Recently discovered Everlane.
I love Everlane but I’ve been reluctant about the clothing items because sizing seems erratic.
Items I’ve purchased:
1. I’ve bought two of the Petra leather backpacks, black and camel. Simply adore them! Very fine quality leather.
2. The Modern Loafer: bought black and camel. Usually wear a 9, sized up to 9.5. Still a little too snug at the front so I had them stretched. Wearable but not ideal.
3. Based on my experience with the Modern Loafer, I ordered the Street Shoe in a size 10 in three colors and I’m very happy with them. Took advantage of the “Choose what you pay” option.
Try one of those handheld garment steamers. I’m lazy about ironing but I can spend an extra few minutes a week steaming out the wrinkles in my clean laundry.
Ps your review made me want that shirtdress!
I realize this is an old post and you’ve liked already tried the anorak by now but just in case – The anorak is my very favorite Everlane piece. I have the black and the navy (has black trim). I took an XS and I’m 5’1″ 135 lbs, 34DD hourglass. Nice drape, looks good open or closed (waist is adjustable hips is loose enough for my ample booty). The black is a softer black but I think it looks good like that, silky. And I wear it with black all the time. Folds up small in my work tote or carryon and wrinkle free. Knee length on me.
I had the exact same problem with the slim-fit white button down. I order a size 0 but the shoulders were a bit too tight. I just ordered a size 2 so we’ll see how that fits.
