As I was going through my wardrobe (again), trying on what I have left and just making sure I didn’t have a few more things I could get rid of (I did), I realized that my Everlane Swing Trench is much too big for me. When Everlane sent it to me to preview, I did think it was a little large, but not so much I wouldn’t wear it, or that it swallowed me. But when I tried it on just a week ago, I seemed to get lost in it. Sadly. Because I love it.
But that just means one of you guys has the opportunity to win this trench. Yay! And I know you’ll love it. My trench is a size medium, and it is the sage color available from Everlane. Here is my original review and pictures of the Everlane swing trench on me from earlier this year. For reference, I’m about 5’3″ and 150 pounds. I think I have broader shoulders, a small waist, and wider hips/butt, and in this case, I think the small would fit me better.
This giveaway is not sponsored by Everlane, nor are they involved with it at all, I just decided that since they gave me the trench and it doesn’t work for me, I’d like to pass it on to one of you. I have never worn it, other than to try it on and take pictures.
To be eligible to win the trench (US readers only please, and sorry!) leave a comment on this post. Say something nice, why you want to win the trench, tell us your favorite Everlane piece, share a story…anything (positive) really. DO not leave your email address in the body of the comment, I will be able to see it as long as you use a valid one to comment. I will run it through the weekend and choose a winner on Monday, September 29th.
And now that that’s out of the way, can we talk about the new stuff? The pocket silk blouse just launched today and even though I banned silk from my wardrobe, I’m tempted. Why? It looks slightly more casual to me – because of the pockets – and like it would fit better into my wardrobe.* I just wish they’d styled it differently to show how it hangs when it’s not tucked in…it’s difficult to see how it will fit. But generally, I like the look/fit of the blouse and could see it being a versatile layering piece under a cashmere sweater this fall.

I also like the new lightweight wool sweaters; the “t-shirt” looks interesting, and the shell would be nice under a cardigan. I’m waiting to see what the chunky wool looks like, and if they bring back another cashmere tunic this year…and the loafers. Of course, I’m waiting for the loafers…
Have you bought anything from Everlane recently?
*I’m not buying it…don’t worry…I am tempted though, I can’t lie!
**if you leave a comment and you’re NOT interested in winning the trench, please note that in your comment! Thank you!!
Also feel free to fix how I butchered your name – sorry!
Love all my Everlane pieces (can’t wait for new sweaters!!!) and would love this trench. Thank you for hosting this generous giveaway!
I need something just like this coat for fall!
haha! i will absolutely let you know when they have a sale!!
haha! no problem on my name, you’re allowed a pass. once 🙂
a couple of you have brought up everlane’s sizing/models “issue” so i think I’ll address that in another post. because i have thoughts. lots of thoughts….!
you BET i will get some of the new cashmere…i really hope they bring back the tunic sweater they did last year, and i’d love a slouchier v-neck, also like they did last year, but i missed out on.
Hi Grechen,
I just “found” your blog last week nod have been bingeing through the archives quite happily. What a refreshing read, and so well written! Thanks for having this generous notion. I think the trench looks great and would love to win it!
Based on your many recommendations, I did purchase a black and a white tee from Everlane. They are soft, fit well and come out of the dryer ready to wear. Their new autumn colors are really lovely and they will probably be my next purchase. Would love to win the jacket – perfect for the mild winters here in southern Arizona. Thanks!!
Haha, thanks! I’m hoping for anything except a super high crew neck really. I would even love it if they made the V a little deeper and slouchier.
I’m still on the fence with the tunic, It looks super comfy but I feel like I would buy it and never wear it.
I love Everlane’s riff on the traditional trench. While still classic, I love that the cut and shape lends a unique twist, so that you won’t be a carbon copy of the other three or so people wearing trenches that day.
My favorite Everlane piece is my cashmere cardigan. It is so soft, and also a classic basic, but so distinctly Everlane.
What a nice, green gesture! Thank you!
Oh, I was just thinking how much I needed a new trench! Thanks for the giveaway, I’d love to win!
As for the positive vibes, keep them flowing! Everything has been positive lately, so I’m trying to keep that energy up.
OH NO, is it too late to enter?! I adore this jacket, especially in the sage color! I’m 5’2″ and long coats look strange on me, so the short trench is really ideal.
