How was your weekend? Mine was generally un-eventfull – I tried to catch up on season 2 of Castle, finished reading the Hunger Games books, and FINALLY used my Groupon from Gap (the most exciting thing LOL). I’d been going back and forth whether to get the skinny cropped black pants, but decided not to in the end. I have always had bad luck with Gap pants, and like my friend Sharon reminded me, they are a LINT magnet. So instead, I got a great patterned skirt with slit pockets and the striped double-layer t for $11.
I’m almost positive this is the skirt I got, but mine has a subtle pattern – the fit is really great, a little short for me to wear without tights or leggings though:
I also went to Nordstrom – I don’t know why – and ended up trying on some James Perse pieces. I almost ordered this dress from Shopbop with the code, but I’m SOO glad I didn’t:
I think I knew it wouldn’t work on me, but it was awful…sometimes JP just totally misses the mark…
I LOVED this top though, it’s longer, and the neckline was really flattering, and am really tempted to get it today from Shopbop:
I also peeked at this top I’d been looking at at James Perse, but I didn’t try it on because I think I knew I’d buy it right there 😉 I think I’ll wait for it to go on sale, or a code…but I WILL HAVE IT. But in gray, I think.
I did finally place an order from Shopbop with the friends & family code (INTHEFAMILY20 for 20% off – expires tonight!!) after much deliberation and taking stuff in and out of my cart…
this James Perse skirt:
and these T by Alexander Wang pants (in black though) – I’m not certain they’ll work, but I wanted to try them anyway…
I’m VERY VERY VERY tempted to place another order today for the JP long-sleeve top I posted above + this Low Luv necklace:
What did you get from the Shopbop sale?? Anything??
Oh, and I think I decided to take back the sweater I got at Calypso a few weeks ago – every time I try it on, I love it, but I don’t necessarily want to wear it. Weird, I know. But I can’t quite picture wearing it outside the house. And I have a problem with short-sleeve cardigans. I already have a great James Perse cashmere short-sleeve cardi that I have a hard enough time wearing…I don’t think I need another one. But I do keep trying on outfits with my Opening Ceremony cardigan I got from Barney’s Co-Op and I can’t WAIT to wear it!!! They finally put it up on the Co-Op site:
Don’t judge until you’ve seen an outfit picture – it is AMAZING. And perfect for my body IMO, because it provides some coverage in the front, but also allows me to show my small-ish waist. I love it so much; it’s definitely unlike anything else in my closet. And not something I’ll see on everyone else…
Lovin’ that necklace. Get it!!! Plus, I think the patterned sweater will be cute–I’ve seen tons of them on website and in mags this fall. Some great buys, but I hate to say I’m going to have to sit this one out.
Wow! I ordered the T by Alexander Wang pants also but in the charcoal color
as pictured. I hope they work. I think they look very cool and comfortable.
i love those pants!! i hope they work too…fingers crossed 🙂
