I mentioned Amour Vert in passing earlier this week, because I recently ordered a linen tee from them (should arrive tomorrow), but wanted to give the brand a little more attention. Especially now, since they’re offering 20% off sitewide with code WATERMELON (today only). If you signed up via my referral link, you’ll also get a code for $25 off, or an account credit, but I don’t think you can use both the $25 and 20% off.
Some of my favorites:
I’m still obsessed with the silk Flora skirt, wondering if I can work with the small – as seen also on Kim from J’Adore Couture
Pearl cardigan (several colors)
Dina linen tee | I ordered this in small
Amour Vert means “green love” and was founded but a couple of engineers, who after learning that the fashion industry is the #2 polluter after oil, dedicated their energies to developing an ethical, sustainable and affordable contemporary line. Amour Vert utilizes low impact dyes, embraces a zero-waste philosophy and uses everything from merino wool to recycled plastic bottles in their designs including tencel, modal, linen, organic cotton and Indian silk. Everything is designed with a purpose and is meant to be worn, lived in.
Looks like I could live in everything…What about you? Have you tried Amour Vert yet? What did you think?
I ordered this : https://www.amourvert.com/products/leanna?variant=20031996039
which is on sale, and got the $25 off, thanks! It’s too warm out to wear now, but I love linen so the 3/4 sleeve will be perfect when it cools down a bit.
nice! love that top –
i actually wear my everlane linen tunic with long sleeves at home all the time because of the air conditioning…so…you might be able to wear it a little now, just not out LOL
I love the look of so many of their tops (cuts, colours, fabrics). I really wish they would start shipping to Canada.
Oh, how I wish they had a linen cardigan! I liked the modal waterfall option but only available to size L. I just returned an Eileen Fisher cardigan duster because it was too long. I’d order petite but I’m not sure the proportions will be right (plus, the regular one was on sale but the petite is not 🙁 Thank goodness Neiman Marcus has free return shipping – I have no idea where the closest store is.
i was hoping for a linen cardigan also!
sorry your EF one didn’t work out. but you’re right about being wary of the petite sizing – when i buy petite, i usually size up to a large…in pants anyway.
ugh. sorry. i wonder why they just won’t at all. i mean, if they charge shipping, i don’t see what the problem is?
I’m right on the edge of petite – it never works for tops (boobs) but for some pants & skirts it can. Usually depends on the brand. And EF is odd anyway with sizing, as you & others regularly point out….I’m just worried that for a duster/cardigan – I *only* want the length shorter, not the sleeves or the shoulders changed or anything else. So I decided – for that amount of money I’d find something closer to perfect. 🙂
I’ve been wanting a linen t-shirt or two all spring/summer. So tempted by this but I might just wait for your review!
And I also would like a linen cardigan. In grey or black with a v-neck. 🙂
I have the Mayr tee in Oatmeal and really like it. I wear it all the time under my beloved steel blue Prairie Underground Moth Coat. (Seriously can’t rave enough about that jacket.) I tried the Dina tee at the time too, but it seemed a bit too frumpy on me so I returned it. I’m pretty tall and small boned, so not sure if it works better on other body types. I ordered the Ryan tee in white today, so hopefully that one will work out. I’ve really been wanting a white linen tee.
I know! They’re killing me. Two engineers and they can’t figure out how to ship to Canada? We’re part of NAFTA guys! It’s a stamp! You can even let the customs guys figure out the duties and whatnot. On the hopeful side, they did let me know that they were planning to “launch” shipping to Canada “soon.” But that was some time ago. I guess they are developing a segregated engineering level mailing system with mutiple business risk cost-based safeguards and results based real time monitoring and adjustability. 😉
Let me also digress and complain about No. 6 store, which I normally love to bits and have ordered from before. I was about to order 4 little cotton ankle socks from them when I noticed they were going to charge me $45 to ship to Canada. Ouch! And no sale.
There are many US stores that are even smaller than these two that ship to Canada for little or nothing. Just saying guys. I still love you.
I’m so tempted on that white linen T!
Thanks for the heads up about the Amour Vert website…I’ve never heard of it, but I love their items especially that black & white silk skirt. I followed the link you noted for Kim’s J’Adore Couture blog, and there is a pop-up Amour Vert in the town right next to me – 10 minutes away! Imagine my surprise…and delight. Given the shopper that I am, I am wondering how the heck I missed that! Now I can go try stuff on and get a sense of fit before ordering online with your code. Uh, oh…budget trouble ahead. One item I’m particularly interested in is those white sneakers. I’ve been looking for a pair that work well with skirts and dresses. These could fit the bill. Have you seen any other good ones?
oh yay!!! try everything on and then report back please 🙂 I’m only half kidding LOL
Those white shoes they have on there are by Veja and I have a couple pairs of their shoes (here are the posts here that mention veja). i have a runner style and the esplar style that they sell at amour vert. i got mine a 1/2 size too big (they run big I’ve heard now, i really need a size 37.5 or 7.5 instead of the size 8/39 i got), so they’ve never been very comfortable, but other people have been very happy with them. i’m pretty sure if mine were the right size i’d live in them…
i do have a size 7 pair up for consignment on slowre right now, they’re in great condition.
I love Amour Vert! I first learned of them when I bought a skirt by them from Piperlime last year, and this year I added a tee and most recently, a silk shirt (the Riley) to my collection. Their items are definitely splurges on my grad student income but it’s worth it to have some eco-friendly items in my wardrobe.
Hoping to get to my local Amour Vert pop-up today, if not next week. I’m happy to check out anything for anybody, so let me know. I’m a size XS, 4 but I can certainly judge if something runs big or small. I wish I could fit into your size 7 consignment Esplar Veja’s as I would buy them in a heartbeat, but I’m a size 6. 🙁 I might even have to go down to a size 5 1/2 if they run big, like you said. Such teeny, narrow feet pose fit challenges.
yes, i think you should definitely size down in the veja shoes. maybe they’ll have them at the pop up to try on??
i’d love it if you see that silk skirt to let me know what you think of it in person, otherwise, i’m mostly just interested in their linen tees.
thanks for your recon efforts LOL 🙂
You got it! I’ll check out the silk skirt and let you know my thoughts. I liked the linen tees also, but I always go for 3/4 sleeves that are more snug on the arm. Amour Vert’s look a big baggy for me, especially since my arms are so thin. However, I’ll still check them out. I’m hoping they will have the Veja shoes to try on!
Fashion isn’t remotely the biggest polluter after oil, unless you consider industrial leather tanning. Probably the greenest thing anyone can do is to just stop buying new stuff. How many black T-shiets does anyone need?
The infamous list of the most polluting industries in the world:
Recycling of lead batteries
Lead Industry
Mines
Tanneries
Industrial discharges and / or municipal
Industrial sites

Well, I checked out my local pop-up Amour Vert, but they didn’t have that cute black and white print silk skirt in stock so I couldn’t check on the sizing. Sorry, Grechen! They did have culottes in that same fabric – an Indian silk (I believe) of medium quality. They were offering an in-store special of buy two and get one free. Small sizes were limited on the items I was interested in, but they kindly offered to send them from another store. I was hot on the trail of the Veja white sneakers and they only had one pair which was my size! However, as you mentioned, Grechen, they run big and ended up being too big and too wide for my size 6 feet. The waterfall cardigan was a good piece which came in two lengths, the shorter looked best on me and the XS fit perfect, but they were out of navy. All in all, the pieces were designed very simply and good for everyday basics. I left empty handed, but will check back again when Fall stock arrives.
wow, what a great review! i’m sorry you didn’t find anything though – but all is not lost, at least you were able to try on the veja’s and confirm your size…
I love Everlane. On the other hand I dislike Amour Vert.
My mailing address is registered with the DMA as “do not mail” but I received a catalogue from Amour Vert. I asked them to help me find out who they got my mailing address from – instead of helping me they lied to me.
If they were really concerned with sustainability they would respect my desire NOT to receive unwanted mail (i.e. dead trees, printing chemical, delivery truck fuel, etc), but no – they care about their profits. AVOID.
