I’ve never really given Coach much thought. I try not to use the word “hate” but I strongly dislike all of their logo bags, although I’m ambivalent towards their all leather bags. Some are nice, but I’ve never wanted to buy one. Until I saw this one:
This is Karla’s bag from Karla’s Closet. I first saw the bottom image on her website, having no idea for a second that the bag was a collaboration with Coach (I thought it was going to vintage – keeping in line with things Karla usually posts), and promptly fell in love. It’s just gorgeous, and a great size. You can pre-order it now at Coach for June Delivery. It’s $398.
I also REALLY like Kelly from the Glamouri‘s bag. REALLY REALLY like it. It’s totally her too…
It’s also $398 (maybe priced a little high?) and available for pre-order. I’d love to see her carrying it to get a better idea of the size, but it looks like such a great Summer bag.
The other two collabs are by Emily, of Cupcakes & Cashmere (the pink satchel, obv.) and Krystal of What is reality anyway? Both of these just kind of look like Coach bags to me…there’s nothing interesting about them in my opinion. Yeah, okay fringe is interesting I suppose, but I’m not a fan.

first one reminds me a lot of the mulberry alexa (which i own). i like it though!

I haven’t bought a Coach in years, maybe in retaliation of all the logo bags I see daily, but I am really interested in the look of Karla’s bag. I don’t know if I’ll pull the trigger though.
Yeah, I pulled the trigger. I’m trying to limit my purchases to one a pay period and it was either the Karla purse that I’ll carry for years or those J Brand Houlihan’s that I’d wear for 6 months and then get tired of. 😉 I love the pink of Emily’s bag, but none of the other three really caught my eye like the karla.
cool!! let me know how you like it in person….i think that bag will last forever, and i love it used as a clutch. i do like the j brand houlihan’s but you’re right, you’ll get tired of them in 6 months. you’ll LOVE them for six months, but for that amount of money, i’d need to love them for a lot longer!!
I will! I liked that it looks pretty classic, but has that edgy touch you don’t normally find in Coach. Yeah, usually the gimmicky j brands go on sale pretty quick…not this pair!
There should be more photos on the Coach website. I like to see multiple pictures when I’m buying on line. I’m reluctant to purchase without first seeing a picture of the bag on a model to get an idea of scale AND a picture of the interior.
I like the bag, BUT the price is a bit high…I could buy a small RM or MJ crossbody at the same price.
And finally…I’m a bit put out with Coach. They should have asked my favorite fashion blogger (her name begins with a “G” and ends with a “chen”) to design a bag. I’d definitely pull the trigger for that one!

i agree with needing more pictures, AND that the price points are a bit high…i feel like Karla’s bag is closest to being a “fair” price though…it definitely has longevity.
Love the “Karla” and can see myself using it a lot! But the other ones leave me cold. I’m pretty much a neutral bags girl (they’re too $$$ to go too crazy over!)
the first one is ok, but coach has gone the way of gaudiness for me and it feels like they’ve lost their brand integrity/identity…i do love my vintage 1970s coach bag, though. owning a little piece of vintage style trumps over-priced accessories any day!

I’ve never owned a Coach bag but I pre-ordered Karla’s bag. It does look similar to the Alexa and PS1 but the price is much more affordable and the leather looks squishy soft.
Just a f/u to say I recd my bag today and I love it. I posted some crappy pics on The Purse Forum. Thanks Grechen for posting about this originally. I can never say no to a new bag.

I am very happy with the size. I don’t carry a lot to begin with but it holds everything I would carry in my other bags; wallet, phone; makeup clutch and iPod. I’m using it as a shoulder bag but I can see it being easy to carry as a clutch too. It’s such supple leather that it’s easy to hold clutch wise. Also, I have it on the very top hole to carry as a shoulder and I Know it could easily be worn cross body too. Love it!
