Is a leather jacket indeed a closet essential? Should every woman have one? I’ve often thought that, and wanted one myself, but never got one. Wait, that’s not entirely true. Many years ago, I had a blazer-type leather jacket I bought from the BCBG outlet and I seem to remember wearing it all the time. A couple years ago, I bought a cream-colored KORS leather jacket for a steal off Rue La La and NEVER wore it. The leather was actually very heavy and thick, and we had just moved to Texas, so it didn’t get much use.
Now, Refinery29 Reserve is offering a deal with Andrew Marc and I’m seriously considering a leather jacket again. I love Andrew Marc’s leather (I’ve had two of his handbags), and the price is right (spend $250, get $500 – which would get me the jacket I want)…I’m just not sure I’ll wear it. But maybe it’s enough just to have it in my closet? For when I do want to wear it?
Both the jackets above are the Brynn, by Andrew Marc, which is the one I would buy. I want it to look good open and be a neutral color, but not black. I love the idea of wearing it with dresses & skirts, or over a silk blouse with jeans.
What do you think? Should I go for it?
Go for it! I bought my first leather jacket a couple months ago and have been surprised by how often I pull it out – which may have something to do with how amazingly badass it makes me feel . . .
Love it the jacket..Thanks for sharing!
totally go for it! you’ll love it, and you really can wear with everything.
Yes, definitely get it. It looks like a great jacket, different enough to stand out but not so trendy you won’t be able to wear it next year. If I didn’t already have about 8 leather jackets, I’d jump on that too! As for when you may want to wear one, I alway break mine out when the temp dips below 70. I’m originally from FL, so anything under that feels a little chilly. π
Grechen, You often want to add an edge to one of your outfits and this will do it! I have a cognac colored vintage Armani that I love! (Actually, it probably matches my Pre-owned Wang bag π
I think this would be a great addition to your wardrobe.
