I have never in my life owned a white dress. Or white jeans, white skirt…anything white on my bottom-half I shun. I supposed I’ve fallen victim to the fashion “rule” that big girls shouldn’t wear white, it’ll make them look bigger. But frankly, I’ve never even tried. But when a white dress by Miguelina popped up on Gilt a few days ago, I decided to give it a go. (I never remember to take a screen shot of Gilt items before the sale is over – so I don’t have a picture yet, but it should arrive today and I’ll try to get an outfit picture up tomorrow).
And then today, I ordered this AKA dress on Swirl because I’m desperate to re-create Jennine’s look here – all I need now is the perfect cropped denim jacket, which seems to always elude me.
Do you wear white dresses? skirts? jeans? Have you ever been afraid to try something the “rules” say you shouldn’t?
I use to wear white jeans when I was much younger and thin! I don’t dare now. I LOVE a great white shirt. I wear them with dress pants tucked-in, and lose over blue jean or khaki shorts. But living in Austin TX I’m overdressed!
I LOVE my white jeans, whether skinny denim, trousers, or bermuda shorts. I don’t care if I’m not thin–I think I look great in them!!
