I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! I did, although I had to remove myself and go outside a few times; I get overwhelmed easily by so many people around. But I’ve enjoyed being with so much family the last few days. We’re driving home tomorrow, and today we’re going to visit Leo’s parents. But first, I did some shopping today – only what I needed, and tried to avoid too much “stocking up” because things are on sale or discounted.
What I bought:
Rodale’s – 40% off sale items and 20% off one regular-priced item, I’m buying more Organic cotton bikinis by Only Hearts, but if I was so inclined, I’d probably order this organic cotton knit skirt by Kowtow since I’ve been looking at it forever. The Domi organic cotton pajamas I mentioned in my Ethical Pajamas post are on sale for more than 50% off but I already ordered those with credit from Garmentory (use my referral link for a $20 account credit when you create an account)
Integrity Botanicals – 15% off with code BLACK2016 – I bought three Meow Meow Tweet deodorants, two Kari Gran lip whips and a Linden Rose hand cream by Osmia Organics
Detox Market – $30 off orders over $200 with code THANKS30 – Two CLEAN program daily shakes, a probiotics supplement, Mascara refill by Kjaer Weiss, and two Hurraw! lip balms
Everlane – I spent $223 of my credit on some things for my sister which contributed $78 towards their black friday fund, purchasing 6 helmets for workers in their factory in Vietnam.
Shopbop – I used my credit to buy a pair of Vince shoes for my sister and replace my Oak dress in a smaller size, although it’s cheaper now at Oak (below)…
Some other great indie designer or otherwise sales:
Elizabeth Suzann | $20 off $250 (TAKE20), $50 off $500 (TAKE50), $100 off $750 (TAKE100) or $150 off $1000 (TAKE150).
Imogene + Willie (American made denim)| 20% off everything
Oak – this dress is my favorite t-shirt dress EVER and it’s on sale for $67
Freda Salvador – 40% off some items
Eileen Fisher – 20% off sweaters with code SWEATER
FashionABLE – 20% off leather totes made by women who have overcome
Amour Vert – 20% off with code GREENFRIDAY + they’re planting 5 trees for every item bought
Aro – independent jewelry, 25% off with code GOBBLE16
Nadaam (ethical) cashmere – 40% off BFCM40
Inhabit – 50% off
Nordstrom is offering an extra 20% off select sale items (here are the James Perse and Eileen Fisher items that are eligible)
Select items are 30% off during Amazon’s Black Friday/Cyber Monday promo, including these Rachel Comey mars boots. You have to add them to your cart to see the discount…
I still haven’t bought anything on sale at James Perse yet…if I do it will be this dress. What have you bought? Are you shopping Black Friday sales?
I bought the James Perse melange Henley dress and the cotton cashmere tank. I also bought a Juniper dress made in the US at Taylor Stitch which is one of my all time favorite Made in US store.
I looked at Ibex for my husband but did not find anything he needed on sale. Ibex is such great quality for t-shirts made of the softest merino wool. That’s all he wears now.
I bought quite a few things from the James Perse sale. I stocked up on a bunch of tee shirts for myself—the relaxed V-neck in all the colors they had on sale. Also got the skinny split dress, the ribbed v-neck dress (wore this one on Thanksgiving and love it. It’s really comfortable!), the brushed jersey drape top (love this one too…very soft and the fit is great!), and a pair of Yosemite yoga pants which I’ll give to my girlfriend for Christmas. I’m thinking of also giving her the low back skinny dress that I got from Shop Bop since I already have this style in the carbon color…but not sure yet! Other sales–Sephora has some really good deals on gift sets as did Birchbox.
I bought a bunch of pieces from the Everlane E2 collection but i’ll be returning a lot of them. Mostly the tanks, turtlenecks and mock neck tanks b/c I need a bigger size. I got them in the small but they’re just too tight and form fitting on me so if i do exchange them, will definitely be getting a medium or even the large. The black bomber jacket though—LOVE IT! I got this in medium and i’ve worn it a few times already. It’s got this sleek quality to it but it’s also quite practical for our milder winters here in So CA. Still waiting for the ribbed tank dress and the patent mules so i’ll let you know how those turn out.
I bought the crop top from Corinne Collection in nude! They have a 20% off sale until Monday. I still need a coat that fits, it’s getting cold here, but I can’t do a $400 ethical winter coat so I’m going to be combing thrift stores.
Gifts, gifts, and more gifts! I did some local shopping, too, which I felt good about. But all of these sales coming at the same time is driving me nuts! I want everything!!! And don’t get me started on the beauty sales…my daughter said, “Mom, do you really need another lipstick?” She just doesn’t get me at all… 😉
You can’t have too many lipsticks.
Thank you! ( You get me, Alexandra!)
Hear, hear!!! to what Alexandra said 🙂
