It’s been weirdly cooler and rainy/cloudy the last couple of days, and since I am NEVER one to allow the chance to layer pass up, I took the rare opportunity to wear this Black Crane square shirt yesterday. Finally. I got this top at Willy’s Detroit quite a while ago, but haven’t been able to wear it.
It’s on sale now at La Garconne in white & black (mine is “grey” although it’s more olive than grey I think) for $84. I HIGHLY recommend this if it’s your style. It’s one size, and rather big, but not altogether completely unflattering with the sleeves rolled up to show wrists/arm. And If you wear it with something slimmer underneath, or even a long, slim maxi dress or skirt, the “big-ness” is balanced nicely. It’s 100% cotton and made in the US.
I’ve carried the Everlane backpack most of the week this week, going to work in my favorite coffee house in Plano, and I’m still very pleased with it. I wish it stood up better on it’s own, even with my laptop and large notebook inside, but with the way the weight is distributed, I’m not sure that’s even possible. No big deal. It’s really cool looking and easy to carry. Holds everything, and then some. If you’re on the fence about ordering one, I’d give it a try. See my original review post for more details.
Happy Friday!! Hope you have a beautiful weekend!
Love it! How versatile!!! Black Crane does it right once again.
I just got my first ever Black Crane piece at Steven Alan a couple weeks ago. I thought the loose shapes would look frumpy on me, but I tried some things on based on your recommendation of the brand. The dress I tried looked remarkably stylish and I couldn’t resist.
oh!! which dress?? it’s remarkable, really, how non-frumpy the pieces look (most of the time). i think she they really pay attention to the cut of the arms, etc., overall, to make it oversized, but not HUGE.
It is the “wide dress”. The only one the Steven Alan store had in stock was the medium, so I tried it just to see what the garment was like. I figured in an oversized dress I would need the small at most. Oddly, the extra oversized vibe really suited my average built frame. I was originally interested in the John Patrick tube skirt (ethical shopping!) to wear with sweaters, but no one like the silhouette on me. I might not have chosen the Black Crane dress on my own, but the vote from my husband and the sales associate won me over. I guess we all need outside advice sometimes. It was fun to push myself to try on what I assumed would not suit me. Thanks for introducing me to the line.
Now next on my wish list are the No 6 clogs they have there. I was trying to be over clogs, and it turns out I’m not.
yay for trying new things š
i try to be over clogs too, and they bring me back in. if i get some though, it will be a pair of sydney brown vegan clogs – that will be a while though…
What the heck?! I have been looking for decent faux leather shoes, and Stella McCartney is just a little bit too avant garde for me. Thanks for this lead!
