Yes, I know I said “somebody virtually shoot me if I ever feature a backpack on Grechen’s Closet” in my video review of Lucky Magazine last week…but I want to know what you think. And I do have to admit that I wouldn’t turn this Alexander Wang backpack away if somebody wanted to give it to me – but I don’t think I’d spend my money on it.
So, shoot me 😉 Theoretically, a backpack-as-handbag could work, as long as you NEVER WEAR IT AS A BACKPACK, and just carry it on your shoulder. Sorry for yelling, but I’m emphatic about that point…
What do you think? Will you carry a backpack this season (other than to school & back)? Do you like the trend?

i should amend my vote of nay by saying that it’s perfectly fine to carry an ergonomic, durable and roomy backpack for travel occasions only…i will always swear by my handy and amazingly well-cushioned jansport laptop/backpack as a carry-on alternative to a clunky duffel or small suitcase.

I used to have one of these by the GAP in black leather and it was a pain in the…back to keep on my shoulder. This was ‘back in the day’ of course. lol
Oh no no no!! Wearing a backpack as a purse was cool in the mid 90s when i was a kid and i will NEVER wear one again for any reason!! I always carry a cute crossbody for travel or when i need my hands free. I definitely would never wear a backpack on my shoulder as a purse! So 1995 junior high! UGH!
Why spend $875 for this backpack when you can get the really fabulous Alexander Wang Rocco Bag?
I’m not a fan of backpacks at all, at BUT they are a lifesaver for air travel. I cant imagine carrying my laptop in a handbag or any laptop shoulder bag. I need something I can be comfortable and not injure myself in the name of fashion.

well, if it saves you from having scoliosis & back pain (from carrying a 2-4 lbs handbag all day) why not?
