I am always so in awe and appreciative of you, dear readers, whenever I ask for help/feedback, and you did not disappoint on the SLOWRE survey.  I am working very hard to implement some of your suggestions and my own ideas in the coming months to make it “better” and easier to grow.
One of the biggest things that needs improvement is the photographs.  I hear this, and understand it.  So I’m working on making them better.  Many of you also mentioned that you’d like to see more items on a person.  Point taken.
Most of the items on SLOWRE now are not my own, so I can’t refer you back to outfit pictures of me in the item. Â But some of them, I can fit into, so I will aim to “model” them more often from now on, as you see above.
Another concern in the survey was that there’s not enough selection.  I get that too.  I’m actively working on getting more items on consignment (I can’t sell all my stuff!!!), but you can help with that by choosing SLOWRE for all of your closet clean-out needs 🙂  I will say that I have quite a few amazing pieces en route as we speak, so I hope you won’t be disappointed in the selection at least in the near future.  I’d love to include more of a size range too, including plus size, but then again, it all depends on what I can get on consignment.
I’m considering relaxing the “sustainable” requirement a bit, as a lot of you mentioned, since buying/selling pre-loved items is naturally sustainable anyway, but I will still be very picky about what I accept.  We’ll see…
One of the hardest things to realize/learn as an entrepreneur is that you CANNOT DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF.  I’ve done it since 2004 here on Grechen’s Closet and started doing it on SLOWRE, just to get it moving.  But it’s time for me to let go and let the professionals do what they do best.  It’s really really hard though, and quite expensive, but I want this too much to leave it entirely in my own hands, haha.
If you happen to be in DFW and/or know anyone in DFW who is a “model” or would be interested in modeling, Â or who is a photographer and can do product and model shots, I’d love some recommendations!!
And now, for the winners of the $25 gift certificates: Erica B., Ruthie P., HM, and Kirsten M. Â congratulations!! I’ll be sending you all your code for $25 credit via email shortly.
Again, thank you all for your continued support over the years; here’s to many more !!
I’m just SO happy to have watched you grow and branch-out, dear friend! You’re AMAZING!!! 🙂
I’m with the “accept more items not necessarily of sustainable origin given that consignment is sustainable in and of itself” thinking. Thanks!
