Every time I fly or go out of town I think I need something new – something “special” for the trip or the flight. I resisted buying anything before my trip to Alaska last week (not for lack of trying) only because it was going to be cold & rainy, and I feel like I have enough clothes for that! And I wasn’t really worried about looking “cute,” I was more concerned about staying warm & keeping comfortable.
That said, I did go shopping before I left anyway…mostly out of habit, and because I wanted to 😉 And the only thing I was tempted to buy was this dress by Rag & Bone JEAN:
It wasn’t amazing enough to pay full price for, but I did like it a lot. I did best with a medium – the large was super-long on me, and you can’t hem it because it would ruin the design at the bottom. The shape is wonderful, I loved the long a-line and the back of the dress. Anyway, I thought it would be the perfect airplane outfit with a cardigan on top and a pair of flat sandals. That’s another thing I obsess over when I travel – what to wear on the plane; to Alaska I wore my James Perse “sweatpants,” but I usually like wearing a long dress & cardigan.
Anyway, in case you hadn’t seen already, Shopbop is offering 15% off with code INTHEFAMILY15 through tomorrow, 5/11. I’d still rather pay less for this dress, so I’ll wait for a sale, but as usual, there are a million things I want at Shopbop, I’m sure I’ll find something to use the coupon code on 😉
And speaking of airplanes…here’s a couple more pictures from my Alaska trip:

What do you like to wear when you travel? Skirts, dresses? leggings?
Glad you and fiance had such a great time–It looks gorgeous there and it’s on my Top 10 list of places to visit. I wear different things depending upon where I’m going: Boyfriend khakis with a nice JP tee and a light cotton cardi (you never know if you’re going to freeze or cook in the cabin!) is my usual staple. Oh, and ballet flats so I can get through security quickly.
