So, now’s a good time to put into practice your “sale survival” skills 🙂 Shopbop started their friends & family event today and it’s VERY GOOD, the best it’s been in years: use code MAINEVENT16 for 25% off orders up to $500 and 30% off orders over $500.  I usually use this event/code to stock up on James Perse and/or underwear and/or Goldsign jeans and I try to save up the credits I earn for displaying the Shopbop widget in my sidebar so I have more money to spend during this code.
I haven’t decided what I’m getting this time yet, honestly. Â I’ve been wanting one of these ACNE wool wraps/ponchos forever, but ponchos are complicated…I also love the Rag & Bone pilot satchel, and have played with it in person. Â I tried on the Splendid long cardigan the other day and it is HEAVENLY; so soft and even the pockets are lined in wonderful-ness (I’d take the XS/S if I got it). Â And of course, I highly recommend the James Perse skirt if you’re into JP at all.
What will you buy? Anything pique your interest? Any questions about anything?

The Michelle Mason grey longline alpaca cardigan! Had my eye on it for a while (after having bought and returned several mohair ones that were too bulky for me) and with the discount, decided to go for it. I toyed with the idea of adding more things to make up to $500 (the cardie was $391 pre-discount) but in the end, decided to just go with the one item at 25%. I *think* (hope) that was the right way to go (I’ve been a bit too spendy this month!) and now sitting on my hands so I don’t go back and “accidentally” order the Sigerson Morrison cut out booties that I honestly don’t need (have similar already) but weirdly crave.
oh!! that’s on my list too…i worry about long cardigans though.
i think it was a great choice, and 25% off is good enough 🙂 no need to add more for an extra 5%…
although i’m not one to talk most of the time LOL – i do that often enough!!
The leather jacket hunt continues… eyeing the Leather Jacket 1 from Blk Dnm!
30% is hard to ignore. I went for my all time wardrobe staples: jeans and t-shirts and finally pulled the trigger and purchased R13 x over waxed jeans which were sitting on my wish list forever and CE t-shirts. Church’s lace up ankle boots are on their way to me from NAP (I got 10% off coupon).
If I find a cashmere sweater in chocolate brown heather color I will be done for the season.
I purchased the jacket a few years ago and I love it! Leather is supple yet sturdy, quilted lining gives extra warmth so I was able to wear it during warmer Midwest winter days with extra layer. Highly recommend it:-)
OMG so much lovely cozy pieces! Love the splendid long cardi and the grey robe style fuzzy sweater coats. Shopbop is always awesome in their assortment & do have good sales. I have a White & Warren cashmere wrap and it is beautiful but huge, which is what I wanted for the plane/accommodations but I question how useful it is for me as a scarf walking for the street. I bought it after a trip to Vegas when I shared a room, generously offered to take the cot and then realized I had no blanket but didn’t want to call room service since all the other girls were sleeping. Shivering the whole night.
Thank you for your review! I also live in the Midwest and it’s important to me to have a somewhat functional jacket. I have been wondering if lambskin is too “nice” for me… but you might push me over the edge.
