This whole outfit is more than a year old: the jeans are several, as are the shoes. The t-shirt isn’t technically a full-year old yet though, I received it mid-June last year. But I’ve been wearing it quite a lot lately and wanted to do a follow-up review, especially if you’re interested in the new “live in simplicity” embroidered version that’s on pre-sale right now.
I have to be honest, this isn’t my MOST FAVORITE WHITE T-SHIRT EVER, because it’s not exactly the shape I’d wear with everything (my favorite white t-shirt now and until the end of time is the James Perse casual tee). I prefer a scooped neck, shorter sleeves, and a straight hem that hits right at or below my hips for an “everyday,” wear-all-the-time tee. But this one is very good. And oh so soft; now that I have a few organic cotton t-shirts, I’m convinced you really can tell a difference.
And, if you prefer a more opaque and mid-weight t-shirt, then this one is perfect. Most tees nowadays (including the JP casual tee) are thin, and can be rather sheer. The Zady tee is opaque, and since it has a higher neckline, you’ll never have to worry about flashing anyone. The neckline is really nice, also, since it’s slightly open, but not too wide to show my bra straps.
As I mentioned, I’ve been wearing this a lot lately, because it’s been cooler in the mornings and I want a longer layer underneath my Zady alpaca sweater (which I’ve also been wearing a lot the last several days), and I love that I don’t really have to think about it much.
Does anyone else have the Zady organic cotton tee? How has it held up?
Also, check Zady all week this week for new arrivals – they sell out pretty quickly once they’re launched. They are sending me this week a linen pullover, and I’m very very tempted by the new organic cotton pullover. Oh, and either today or later this week they’re launching cruelty-free silk. Don’t’ forget to use code GRECHEN15 for 15% off 🙂
I haven’t tried the organic tee yet, but I sure am tempted by the organic cotton pullover you mention. What a beautiful shape! I am also loving their linen cardigan. Can’t wait to see the linen sweater on you.
I’m not sure why, but I’m having trouble getting their site to show up for me on my iPad. I get the headers, but no photos or text. And I used to!
Hm, I think we have opposite fit preferences in a white t-shirt:) I prefer a rounded hem, slightly longer sleeves and a crew that doesn’t dip too low. I’m on the taller side and with my tiny top half, if a top dips too low it simply shows too much. And not an attractive too much!
By the way, I love the Zady t-shirt on you!
Ha! Well then you’d probably love the zady tee!! I like it a lot, it’s just not something I can wear with everything. It’s a little too long for that on me.
How is silk-making ever cruel? Silk-worms are not sentient beings.
it’s “cruel” because they silkworms are killed in the process of producing “regular” silk – if you’re a vegan or prefer that any animal not suffer for your fashion, then cruelty free silk (harvesters wait until the silkworms leave their cocoons) is preferable.
These are great photographs! The t-shirt looks super comfy, and it could go with pretty much anything. Awesome post! Thanks so much for sharing with us!
