Just for fun…
Doesn’t matter where you got it, how much you paid, what’s been your favorite clothing/shoe/accessory purchase lately? or I should say acquisition, maybe it was a gift, or you swapped for it, or you made it?
Right now, mine is my Ichi Antiquities pants (seen here), but I have a dearth of tops/shirts to wear with pants like these, unless I wear a t-shirt, which is what I most often do. When I get my reward from Eileen Fisher (my mom bought some stuff when she was here and used my reward account to do it, so I finally reached the threshold where I get my $100 reward – FYI EF’s rewards are really good, much better than Nordstrom…) I’m going to buy this organic cotton tee I tried on recently.
But, yes, that’s a tee. I’m looking for something with sleeves and a crew neck for coverage from the sun. And I was thinking about the Elizabeth Suzann Lin tee in linen since it seems to be a bit shorter in the front. Or maybe the Lara top in linen gauze? I have my gift card for the return of my ES x AC dress burning a hole in my virtual wallet 😉
I know some of you guys have one or both of these, any input for me? I don’t like the Georgia tee, so that’s out. I’m open to thinking about the Maxine crop (maybe in cotton poplin though…) too, I really love that, but honestly, how often would I wear something like that??
What about the Black Crane box top? http://needsupply.com/womens/new/clothing/box-top-in-oatmeal.html I always have my eye on it.
My favorite acquisition is still my Lauren Manoogian sweater 🙂 I got so much more wear out of it this spring than I thought I would!
I am really happy with the Everlane straight leg jeans. Finally, a pair of jeans that fit me correctly. I also just got a cute vintage watch and some Mephisto sandals from the thrift shop.
I’m awaiting my Moop bag and two tshirts from Everlane (fingers crossed I like them).
I love my ES Georgia T in the linen gauze and I love my Lara top in a hemp blend (sample sale). So I think the Lara in linen gauze would be fabulous as well! I truly regret not buying the Maxine crop in raw silk. 🙁
My favorite thing is this sweater, which it is now too warm out to wear, but I am so in love with it :

My vegan Birkenstocks! https://www.birkenstock.com/us/vegan
oh! so nice that you found good jeans 🙂
and i love my mephisto sandals, i have the helen style, which sort of looks like birkenstocks, but with a toe ring. they’re soooo old!
i had two of those bc box tops (in cotton poplin) and sold them 🙁 they were too long on me and tapered, so in my size, the fit was always a bit off…
i’m so glad you got that sweater 🙂 it’s really a beautiful long-term piece…
yes, the maxine would have been lovely in raw silk. i’m tempted by the poplin because it seems “easier” to get away with not wearing a bra with. but seriously. it’s not a very practical top….it would be great for outdoors activities, but i’d always need to carry a wrap/scarf/cardigan for indoors to put on…
is the lara cropped enough in front? how does the linen gauze hold up/wear?
oh, i’m so glad you mentioned this! i have a bare knitwear blanket i LOVE and wanted to get a sweater this year (later!) – but i’m concerned about the sleeves on this one. i’m not generally a fan of bell sleeves, unless they roll up easily and STAY PUT. do these roll up? sleeves are always long on my short arms….
yay!!!
All right!!!! I love mine too!
Really liking my Gucci princetown mules. I wear them almost every day, very comfy right out of the box AND the purchase contributed to a Bloomingdales gift card of $200 so win/win for that 🙂
The Linn top is swingy and very comfortable and flattering. I got that in one of the cotton blends . I have the Maxine in raw silk too and it’s a lot of fun to layer over a tank or even a long sleeve tee. OR, for the daring, when it’s hot out, where nothing but a pretty bra underneath and a pair of jeans and you’re good to go!
I have the Linn tee in linen and I like it a lot but not with jeans. Maybe because I don’t have the right jeans to wear it with? For me it’s too wide and cropped and even though my jeans have a slouchyish fit I feel like the whole thing is a little top heavy and I stare at my crotch in the mirror and give up and change my pants. That said, I wear it a lot with my Florence pants, layered over my Clyde jumpsuit, and maybe when the weather cools down I would consider it layered over a long sleeve shirt and a different style denim. I have a friend who has the Lara in linen gauze and loves that although for my money I think the January top by not perfect linen is the best 3/4 sleeve linen shirt in the whole wide world.
I recently snagged a pair of Levi’s White Cone Denim jeans on consignment and I freakin’ love them! They make any outfit look effortlessly cool.
The sleeves do roll up, and I can’t promise they would stay put all day, but I fold them up a few inches and that seems to be fine, and I have short arms also. It’s a OS sweater, but so super-comfy and cotton, so not overly warm for the level of coziness. I thought the Haori jacket was the best thing until I got this sweater! I would wear it around the house more in the a/c but am afraid of getting cat-claw pulls. I do recommend getting it from Garmentory when it’s back in stock for free returns. You have enabled some of my bestest purchases (Robert Clergerie!) so I am happy to recommend it.
I really love both a Y’s by Yohji Yamamoto dress and skirt/pants by Issey Miyake 132.5 that I got recently and can’t decide which one is my favorite, though of course I find the dress easier to wear. They were serious splurges for me, but I figure these are pieces that I could wear as a 70 year old if I wanted to.

The version of the Lara I have is perfect for me. But I bought it during one of the online sample sales. I could give you the measurements of it if you’d like. The linen gauze is very sturdy. I think “gauze” is used as a description of the texture, not weight.
Agreed on the practicality of the Maxine. Which is probably why I never bought it!
My new soft footbed birks!
I agree, Laurie. I think the Lara top would look great with those pants! Go for it, Grechen!
Hmm, latest acquisition that I’m crazy about would be Xirena’s Beau button-front in watermelon because I wanted something summery. But I haven’t purchased much clothing because I’ve gained so much weight while I’ve been sedentary due to this “ailment” I have. But man oh man, have I purchased the makeup!
My favorite that I’ve gotten somewhat recently is the Girlfriend Collective leggings. I got the original black pair during the campaign, and I didn’t realize how much I would love them. I wear them almost nonstop, even now while I’m pregnant – and I’m in my third trimester and surprised at how well they are accommodating my belly! I really want to get another pair, probably in the 3/4 length because I’m on the short side, and the original ones are a bit long. But I love the fit and feel, and have been pleased with how well they are holding up. They are really great for traveling.
I also want to try some of their bras and now the tees, but I’m holding off buying much of anything right now because of pregnancy.
I’m so inclined to try the Everlane straight jeans. Did you need to size down for fit? I loved the Modern BF when I got them, but they stretched so much that they don’t fit like I want any longer. Thinking about selling.
Hmmm. In terms of having the biggest impact on how I wear things in my closet, probably my Everlane Wide Leg Crops in black and bone. I really like them and I was on the fence about whether to hem them (they hit just at my ankle bone), but like them just as much cuffed once, so am avoiding that decision for now. There are a lot of shirts that I love but wish were narrower that look fabulous with the high rise, and the pants feel really flattering and fresh after years of skinny jeans.
MAKEUP is awesome! I love buying makeup. I have too much and I don’t wear enough and everything’s disorganized in my makeup cupboard but it’s so much fun 🙂
My favorite purchases, myEverlane wide leg crops in golden brown! I love these so much and wear them every week – also have them in black. My Nisolo Mariella Mules in black and ACxES Marlena tank in natural are also in the running. Ok AND a few pair of Machete hoop earrings. They are fun and light on the ear.
The Linn looks like it would be perfect for you. Check Only Child too, she has some cute cropped tops for the summer.
All of the ones in the top row might work for you:

I’ve had fun with it, for sure! Sounds like we could compare notes! Haha 🙂
I recently purchased a Miranda Bennet Everyday Top in silk noil. I love the v-neck and slouchy drape of that shirt! http://www.mirandabennettstudio.com/
Also, picked up a linen cardigan from Eileen Fisher that I’ve been wearing everyday! It’s the pefect weight and color for my life. https://www.eileenfisher.com/organic-linen-knit-long-cardigan-s8lwo-k4458/?&color=1958
I didn’t size down but I am a true pear shape with a long torso so these fit perfectly fine in the butt and thighs. I think if you have a straighter figure, you might want to size down if you don’t want them to feel lose in the butt, but the waist tapers in enough that they don’t fall down at all, which is why they’re perfect for me. My waist is exactly 29″ and the 29 fits true to size in my opinion.
My most recent favorite acquisition is the Chloe Drew bag with the thick chain in a caramel color (mini size). I’ve eyed the Drew bag for awhile but was concerned about the comfort of the thin chain and the length. Recently found the thicker chain version at The Rack (a true deadstock from Nordstrom, not a made for outlet, yay!). The thicker chain can be doubled to wear as a shoulder bag and it is a bit short as a crossbody, which is perfect for my short self. It was still a deep breath guilt inducing price but I love it. Since I wear so much oversized loose natural fabric pieces, it provides a nice tailored contrast and holds what I need on most days. It’s quite comfortable too. Chloe’s smallest bag is actually called a nano size so I’d say the mini is like other brands’ small.
I’ve been eyeing the Lynn and the Lara too. I can say I love the linen gauze. I have the Georgia (the shorter version) and the Harper dress in the charcoal linen gauze. It does feel lightweight to me and I love the texture.
My recent favorite acquisitions are my raw silk Georgia that I got from STES and a patterned silk scarf I found while cleaning out my grandparents in laws place… I have *finally* figured out how to style a bandana for myself, and am loving it!
Is have to say it’s my Nisolo mules. I’ve worn them to work every day this week. Super comfortable and match anything 🙂
Not sure how you feel about Grana, but what about this top:

Just a little FYI!
