Just some lovely linen items from Japanese brand Ichi Antiquite for your perusal this morning.  Can you have too much linen?I think not.  And can I just say how much I love this model at Mill Mercantile??

If you haven’t already, I’d suggest adding Mill Mercantile to your list of boutiques to shop, or at least sign up for their email newsletter to get information on new arrivals and sales. I love their selection of carefully selected designers and they do sometimes offer discount codes (I bought my Chimala jeans with a coupon via Mill).

And this is not Ichi Antiquitie, but still wonderful, I REALLY love this miiThaaii madras dress, (perfect for layering it seems), and $70.

    Ok that Mill Mercantile site is impressive. They carry lots of brands I really like, including Evam Eva – their Japanese site isn’t the easiest to navigate, Fog Linen Work, and Kapital.

    Thanks for the post – I’ll kill two posts with one comment as per yesterday’s — I could read you day and night so the more you post the better (and when you are offline for a bit I will run through the archive and read various posts!) I have to remind myself that I don’t actually know you since you write with such warmth and inclusiveness.     I’m also a linen lover! Grechen, can you please give a recap on your thoughts of wearing linen beyond summer (or NOT wearing linen beyond summer?) I wore linen pants in December and a very style-conscious person (a guy) actually gasped and said, “ARE THOSE LINEN?!” while shaking his head. I know, very annoying! So…just wanted to know , is wearing linen in fall and winter a fashion faux pas?

    i don’t think it’s a faux pas, but i myself cannot do it 😉

    i would like to try though, wearing linen in fall/winter – i was actually thinking about that yesterday as i was planning for fall. i really love the JP linen/cotton blend pants i have and was thinking i could wear them in fall with my ES shoes, or whatever, but still..that feels wrong to me. for what reason, i have no idea. i mean, linen to me is definitely a summer fabric, but i don’t know why i seem to adhere to the “certain textures/fabrics go with specific seasons” rule and not any other style rules LOL

    i would also NEVER carry a suede bag year-round; it’s just a winter texture/material to me.

    i think if your climate permits it, there’s absolutely no reason at all NOT to wear linen all year if you want to. fashion rules be damned…

    thank you for sharing christina! i do love those scarves. i have been collecting linen blankets of late, and i love them so much!! and i have a linen duvet on my bed i’m thinking of leaving on even in fall/winter GASP

    I don’t carry a suede bag during spring/summer either. I’m looking forward to breaking my one suede bag out again come fall!
    I do live in a warmer climate (So CA) so I know I can get away with wearing linen year around in the physical sense. I kind of like the idea of putting away the linen after summer ends though; it will make it more exciting to wear again when spring arrives. So now, I’m just wearing the heck out of my linen pieces 🙂

    That was meant to refer to the guy who was so aghast at off-season linen!!!

    I saw these pieces via the Mill email and also lived them…esp the poets shirt. I fear that I’d look like a puffball, tho. Maybe I’m not at my IDGAF years yet! Lol!

    I think you’ve mentioned them in the past because I added the store to My Maps for Portland ME – we’ve been planning a trip for a couple of years now – really hoping we might make it this October, possibly for our anniversary 😉
