Weekend Outfit: Remember the Alamo….

I miraculously persuaded my fiance to go to San Antonio on Saturday and we ended up walking around The Alamo (it was really beautifully kept up, and very interesting to learn all of the history).

I’m wearing:
Velvet X Calypso slouchy top – honestly, I wasn’t sold on this top until I wore it…now I really love it. It’s slubbed cotton, and very slouchy up top, and somewhat fitted at the hips. It’s a longer length (which I love) and I’m starting to “get” navy!

Sandals I got at Calypso Thursday because my Jeffrey Campbell sandals I WAS WEARING fell completely apart. This is a sad story or poor quality if ever there was one. I’ve really never had shoes fall apart on me before. The shoes were only a couple of years old, not even worn 5 times yet. What I hate the most, is that they were sent to me to review, and I did review them after wearing them 2-3 times, they were relatively comfortable, and seemed to be made well as far as I could tell…I cannot explain how the soles just came completely unglued in one day…

Anyway, I really love these new sandals – they’re handmade in Kenya and after the 20% discount, were a great price.

You look awesome! This outfit looks so comfortable and well put together. And I especially love the slouchy draping of the shirt.

Looking good, Grechen!
I also had a pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes lose the sole after only wearing them a handful of times. Wonder if it’s a heat/glue thing? Shoe Goo might help fix the sole as it’s worked on an old pair of my dad’s Clark’s for 40 years.
