WEARING:
Madewell dress
Inhabit NY Cotton sweater (check out their sample sale, this is $50 now)
Vintage Corduroy jacket
Spanx tights (the same ones I wore yesterday, they’re reversible!)
Massimo Dutti ankle booties
Jerome Dreyfuss Billy Bag

Now that I look at the picture, this outfit is a bit matchy-matchy for me! I know…this from a person who mostly just wears black, gray and white…but generally I like to have a good contrasting color. Which I guess the blazer is. Anyway, I’m seizing on EVERY opportunity I can to wear tights; it’s supposed to warm back up to the 80′s soon.

Also today I’m taking my new Massimo Dutti booties our for a spin. They’re still a bit snug, but wearing them definitely helps stretch them (I wore them around the house for a while yesterday), and while I’m out today, I’m going to pick up some leather stretch spray that mamavalveeta recommended. I love them though, the heel is good, but not too high, and once they stretch a little more, they’ll be super-comfortable.

Outfit: h.g.s. pop-up shop

by grechen on October 24, 2011 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

WEARING:
Parker silk top (different color)
Anthropologie skirt

Sharon, Sydney & I had our second hunt.gather.style pop-up shop this weekend, and it was a BLAST! I loved seeing everyone who came, meeting new people and talking fashion. And as you can see, I’m wearing color! Which clearly shocked people who already knew me, but also garnered tons of compliments from people who were meeting me for the first time. I guess I’m getting a bit more comfortable with color, but notice how I carefully paired the blouse with a gray skirt, so as not to “color block” ;)

That would have been a bit too much I think! Anyway, Sharon did it WAY better than I could…

Ceramic Pigeon Vases

by grechen on September 18, 2007 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

I just today found Three Potato Four on Modish.com and I am already obsessed. There are way too many things I NEED to post, but I just keep coming back to these little pigeon vases

And if I wrote in a journal more often, I would write in these:

Most of the items are one-of-a-kind and once they’re gone, they’re gone (which makes me sad since many of my favorite things are sold).

In parting, these are also cool – there are several simple designs of these handy wood boxes:
