So….here it is in action, the leather skirt from Anthropologie – but I have to be honest, I thought long and hard about taking the it back after I bought it on Saturday. You know me…I lead such a casual lifestyle, and hardly ever wear anything interesting, so I was questioning exactly how often I’d wear the skirt to make it worth the price.

But as I was getting dressed today, I thought I could wear jeans and a sweater JUST like I wore yesterday, or I could wear something interesting – like my new leather skirt. And all I did today was meet a friend and go to Anthropologie to try on the size 10 in the floral print dress EVERYONE liked (I bought it). That’s it. But I loved wearing the skirt. And when I checked out with my dress, the SA told me the skirt looked great on me; she didn’t think she liked it when they first got it in, but now she does ![]()
I’m wearing the Anthropologie leather skirt with:
Spanx tights
Swedish Hasbeens clogs
L’Agence grey tee (with a 1/4 inch HOLE in the back I just discovered!!!)
DarylK for Barney’s Co-Op 3/4 sleeve sweater
Jas M.B. bag from Tobi.com (use code GRECHEN25 for 25% off – excluding J Brand) – I decided I could carry this bag with the skirt. I was WAY over-thinking it….
And In case you’re wondering, I’m TOTALLY sticking to my challenge pieces. I took back the Opening Ceremony cardigan I originally had in the rotation and added the leather skirt + the new floral dress ![]()
If you’re interested in buying the skirt (2 of you have already!), both of my stores have it in stock (it’s not online yet) – and I think it runs true to size. Call 512-236-9301 or 512-873-8429 to order.

It’s been waaaay too long since my last clog post, don’t you think? So this one will hopefully make up for it!!
And remember when I posed the question, what is a clog? I don’t remember if I told you what I considered a clog, but basically, I think a clog is a shoe or sandal with a wooden heel & fastened with studs or staples. More traditional Swedish clogs tend to be fastened with staples, but most of the clogs available today, and the more “trendy” ones are fastened with studs. Which I love. Clogs aren’t wedges, and I don’t think you can have a clog without a wooden heel…do you agree? Anyway, on to my favorites & where to buy them:
Jimmy Choo Clog sandals: $395 – Love these!! Didn’t expect a clog from Jimmy Choo, but I guess everyone’s getting into the game for Spring…
No6 has updated it’s webshop with the slingback clogs and the t-strap clogs in several colors (you can also special order these in whatever color you can imagine). I really love this floral print:
I posted Cynthia Vincent’s other ethnic-inspired version of these a while ago, but today, I saw this version, and love it almost as much. (psst…you can use code DSNR250 for $40 off these shoes at Endless through 3/2)
And oh…how I love both of these clogs by Stuart Weitzman at Jildor Shoes. I saw the first pair in person the other day, honestly, I don’t do as well with almost my whole foot covered as I do with a t-strap, or 3/4 coverage, but I love the scalloped edge and studs. And the second pair is just a super-sexy version of the clog sandal…perfect with an airy, light Spring dress.
These Joie clogs at Bloomingdale’s are very similar to the Cynthia Vincent ones I posted above, but I love the darker wood on these…
Tory Burch sandal at Nordstrom – $295 pre-order. I REALLY really love the woven leather on this sandal. Maybe it pushes the clog definition a bit…
And for more “traditional” swedish clogs – obviously you can go for Swedish Hasbeens – or try out these two:
Dala clogs ($85) – these are super-affordable, and available in several pretty colors –
And you can custom order these Sven high-heel clogs for $139 in lots of colors, leathers, and wood…
For a lower heel, even more traditional clog – there are TONS of options online, but I do still love my silver cape clogs:
Did I miss any I haven’t posted already? Do you have a favorite?

I really love this look – so much, I bought this similar, but longer, and more substantial skirt today at the Gap (It was on sale for $37 in the store). In this picture, I’m also wearing a James Perse casual u-neck, James Perse sweater, Spanx Leggings and Swedish Hasbeens clogs.
Speaking of shopping…I hit up the local mall today to play around at Sephora with lip color. I REALLY REALLY loved this new Tarte lip stain in “Amused” but they were sold out of nearly all the colors. The coverage was great, and so moisturizing. I also loved this NARS lip pencil in “cruella” which, of course, was also sold out!! I’ll be ordering both of those online, but I also hit up the Bobbi Brown counter at Nordstrom to get a complete makeover (thanks for reminding me how much I love Bobbi, Val
) and whoa. I’m hot! LOL I ended up with lots of stuff, but settled on the lipstick in Roseberry, gel eyeliner in Sepia Ink and Pot Rouge in Pale Pink:
And FYI, that’s a picture of the view from my window/patio – I saw a few deer walking through yesterday ![]()
