Woot!! we’re going out tonight to celebrate that my fiance’s company will live to fight another day (which means we’re definitely moving to Austin, TX now)!! So I thought I’d get all fancy with my outfit LOL. Seriously, I went on a quest this weekend for non-cotton-jersey stuff to wear when we go out, so there’s some differentiation between my “regular” clothes and “going-out” clothes. I found this skirt, among other things, at H&M, and I like it – as much as I can really “like” circle skirts on me. They always widen my hips and make my butt look enormous, but I think they’re fun with a top tucked in and a jacket.

What I’m wearing:

H&M skirt
Spanx tights – love these, they’re the two-timin’ ones, one side is brown, the other black :)
James Perse long sleeve tee
Jacket from Anthropologie
Robert Clergerie shoes
Alexander Wang Coco Duffel

Outfit: Inhabit Cotton Skirt

I was really excited about getting this skirt from the last Inhabit sample sale, but now that it’s here, I’m not so sure. I mean, I actually like it a lot, my fiance HATES it because he says it makes me look wider than I really am. And he has a point. There’s a lot of material on this skirt, it’s layered, has pockets, and it’s a faux wrap, so I can’t really make it flatten out like I would be able to with a real wrap skirt (if that makes sense…). So, I don’t think it’s my most flattering look ever, but neither do I think it’s the worst…

What do you think? (I can’t send it back because it was a final sale, but I’d love to know what you guys think anyway)

Wearing with:
James Perse Casual u-neck
Robert Clergerie platforms

I HATE to have things in my closet I don’t wear, besides the fact that they take up valuable space, I am also on a mission to fill my closet ONLY with things I love (and that love me back). I want my wardrobe to be as tightly edited as my favorite boutiques – full of things I wear constantly and will continue to wear for years. That means getting rid of things I haven’t worn in years, and/or things I NEVER wore.

Some things I will donate, but others I thought you guys would like a crack at. Some of the things I’ll put up here you’ve seen me wear in Outfits of the Day or in Reviews, others you’ve never seen before. I will be selling everything for well under $100, and you’ll have to agree to take each item as is – I won’t take them back.

Here goes part 1: Shoes with heels (flats come next)

Robert Clergerie Wedges size 8 $75

Robert Clergerie Wedges size 8 ---- $75

I’m REALLY torn on getting rid of these, but I haven’t worn them in at least three years, so I guess it’s time. I remember buying these and how excited I was :) They were made in France, and they’re size 8. They’re generally comfortable, given the height, and the details are just lovely. I wore them quite a few times for about 6 months, but it’s been at least 3 years since they’ve been on my feet. They’ve been in a box with paper stuffed in the toes to hold the shape. These shoes will come in a box, but it’s not THEIR box. They do not have shoe bags.

Ernesto Esposito Size 38 $30

Ernesto Esposito Size 38 ---- $30

These Ernesto Esposito heels have never been out of the house (I bought them from Shopbop a year or so ago). They’re pretty cool, they also have a small ankle strap that attaches (and comes off). They’re made in Italy and do not come with shoe bags.

Lisa Nading Wedge size 38.5 $30

Lisa Nading Wedge size 38.5 ----- $30

These Lisa Nading wedges haven’t been worn in several years, but they were well worn right after I first bought them. They’re very cool, and fit well (I generally take a size 8/38). The sole is padded and super comfortable.

Marc by Marc Jacobs size 38.5 $30

Marc by Marc Jacobs size 38.5 ----- $30

These Marc by Marc Jacobs shoes have also never been out of the house. I got them at Shopbop several years ago, but never wore them. They’re a teeny bit big for me, but would work okay with a heel pad or small insert for a true size 8.

Sportmax size 8 $75

Sportmax size 8 ----- $75

I almost hate to part with these too…but I’ve only worn them once in 2 years. After ordering them from the NY MaxMara and having them shipped to me, and waiting so impatiently for them (and paying a pretty penny), I never really loved them enough to wear them often. They’re made in Italy, the quality of Sportmax is incredible (I have a 4 yr-old pair of clogs that get insane wear and have held up amazingly), and the inside is well-padded. Both the buckles are fully adjustable.

Stella McCartney sandals size 37.5 $50

Stella McCartney sandals size 7.5 ----- $50

How I wanted these when they first came out!! I went straight to buy them and then only wore them a few times…they’re 100% vegan, made from a cool batik fabric, wood, and jute. The 37.5 was always a bit small for me, so if you’re a 7.5 these should work perfectly for you. They’re very comfortable to walk in, and are very high-quality shoes.

Twenty Two Shoes size 38.5 $45

Twenty Two Shoes size 38.5 ----- $45

Honestly, I think these could be the most comfortable shoes I have in my closet. But I don’t like the way they look on my feet :( These shoes are made in Italy, the leather is to die for, and it really feels like you’re wearing nothing, or at least just slippers, with these sandals. The buckles are adjustable, and these have never been worn out of the house.

Okay, so if you’re interested in anything, please contact me via e-mail and let me know. Everything is first-come, first-served, and I will not consider the shoes sold to you until I receive your payment via PayPal. I will ship packages out the morning after your purchase via UPS and will send a tracking number.

Review: Robert Clergerie Shoes

April 25, 2007

I have owned five pairs of Robert Clergerie shoes (counting these) and I cannot rave enough about them. Yes, they are pricey (about $450 a pair), but they are always my go-to shoes; I wear them ALL THE TIME. As I’ve mentioned before, I shop & buy strictly on Cost-per-wear, not initial cost. Anyway, I [...]
