Outfit: I’m Back!!

by grechen on April 15, 2010 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

Well, I can’t guarantee I’ll post everyday, but I thought it was time to post an outfit picture…

I’m wearing:
James Perse top
Level99 denim skirt from Anthropologie
Swedish Hasbeens clogs
Alexander Wang Donna handbag

My hair is a disaster, I finally made an appointment for next week – but honestly, I’m nervous. I had the most wonderful stylist in Atlanta who knew my hair and always seemed to know what I wanted. She was perfect. And now I have to find a new one….

Outfit: Rain, Rain Go Away

by grechen on February 8, 2010 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

We had a really beautiful day here on Saturday, but that’s been it for a while…nothing else but rain and rain and more rain. Better than snow and really cold weather, but I really need some sun. (maybe that’s why I look so p*ssed LOL – I’m really not, but I have a really really really hard time taking great pictures of myself, this was honestly the best I got in this set!!)

Wearing:

Goldsign jeans
TOMS blue sparkly shoes
James Perse Henley
Target wrap cardigan
Alexander Wang Diego bucket bag

Outfit: Needs a Belt

by grechen on January 19, 2010 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

So, I wore one of my very oldest James Perse pieces (this tube dress) in honor of the James Perse sample sale on Gilt this morning, and ended up being disappointed. There were lots of tees and long skirts, some dresses, but nothing I really wanted to buy. Oh well, now I have more money for the Splendid & Bloch sales tomorrow :)

And as I look at the picture, it’s obvious that I need to add a belt. In person, you can see more definition of my waist, and there’s a drawstring tie visible, but I do think it would look more pulled-together with a belt. Next time…

Also wearing American Apparel leggings, No. 6 Clogs (similar to these at La Garconne, but mine are peep-toe), Alexander Wang Coco duffel, Skin & Threads Cardi.

Outfit: Inhabit Cashmere + UGG Moccs

by grechen on November 6, 2009 | SUBSCRIBE | TWITTER | FACEBOOK |

outfitnovember62009

What I’m wearing:

James Perse tube dress
American Apparel leggings
Inhabit NY Cashmere turtleneck – I have no idea what this color is, but I forgot how much I loved this t-neck! Luckily, through today, it’s on sale for $80 at Inhabit NY’s sample sale…must go and get me an other one…
UGG “Abroad” Moccasin

Yes, that’s correct. These are UGG moccs, and I love them. Now, I’ve never been one to apologize for wearing UGG boots, I can’t, I live in them all Winter and they have totally transformed my life during cold weather, I cannot imagine life without them. BUT, you’ll never see an outfit of the day with me in my UGG boots – they never make it beyond the house or a .5 to a 1 mile radius around my building where I walk the dog. They’re never “part” of my outfit; they’re always UNDER my pants or jeans, never to be seen. Not that I think they’re ugly necessarily, I just don’t consider them a fashion statement – they’re warm, comfortable shoes. Oh, are they comfortable.

So, when the lovely people at UGG offered to send me a pair of shoes to review, I REALLY wanted to try a pair of their new non-UGG-looking boots, like these, but my calves never would have fit in them, so I decided to try a pair of flats. I’d been thinking about buying a pair of moccasins, and the idea of UGG comfort in a mocc, AND a shoe I could wear outside the house excited me, so I chose the “Abroad” style.

UGG Australia Women's Abroad Ballet Flat in Amber Brown

From the second I put these on, I knew they would be my new favorite shoes (besides my new Repetto flats, and my UGG boots of course). They’re insanely comfortable, the suede is soft, and the sheepskin lining is TDF. I do wish the lining wasn’t only on the footbed – they could have lined the top of the toe area too, that would have been heavenly, but possibly a sizing problem. I also wish the toe was a little more rounded, but overall, I love the shoe. My fiance does too, which is surprising, but not surprising at the same time…he has a very “classic” taste. I took my regular shoe size in these instead of sizing down like I do in the boots and they fit perfectly.

I’m so happy with these shoes – maybe they’re not as fashionable as the Elizabeth & James moccs I was obsessed over earlier this year, or as cheap as the Minnetonka moccs, or as awesome as these A.P.C. moccs, but they’re comfortable, they’re practical, and all in all, a wonderful shoe.

You know all those people who go to Target and never leave without spending $100 (mostly on stuff they didn’t come in for)? Well, that’s totally not me, but yesterday, I did a double take walking by this dress and when I tried it on, knew I had to have it. I LOVE that it [...]

I really hate to put on clothes and leave the house lately…it’s been in the low 90′s here for a couple of weeks and it’s starting to wear me down! Today, I just had to run some quick errands, and wouldn’t be outside for very long, so I decided to wear jeans. What I’m wearing: [...]

Latest Obsession: Hayden Harnett Thea Dress

April 30, 2009

It’s no secret how much I love Hayden-Harnett; I’ve posted about their bags/shoes/clothes many times. But I’ve not become OBSESSED with anything until now. Enter the Thea Dress: I have to admit, although I’ve been looking at this dress for awhile, I didn’t become obsessed with it until I got this week’s Hayden-Harnett IRL issue [...]

Red Matt Bernson Love Sandals

June 13, 2008

If you check out my Outfit of the Day posts with any frequency at all, you know how much I love my Matt Bernson Love sandals. I wear them constantly and have two pairs: silver crackle, and black. They are incredibly comfortable for a perfectly flat sandal, and in my opinion, run true to size. [...]
