By now, you should be able to tell I’m going to be featuring LOTS of long skirts and dresses for a while (at least until it hits 100 degrees); I always love them for Spring/Summer but this year they’re easier to find because they’re right on trend. {take advantage of trends when they’re something you love anyway – stock up!!}

I personally have these three maxi dresses and LIVE in them during warmer weather. The first is James Perse (my newest acquisition), second is also James Perse (I have two of these), and third is Rachel Pally (the SOFTEST material ever).
You know, I thought I was over the maxi dress after last Summer; I was personally a little tired of the look, and conflicted about how flattering they were on me. But with new Spring pieces slowly surfacing, I’m beginning to rethink my position…

Both of those dresses above are Beau Soleil (100% bamboo) at Shopbop. The first is my favorite, and would be most flattering on me, because of the defined waist, but I love both of them.
I have two of these James Perse Dresses already,one in navy and one in black – I lived in them last summer and will continue to wear them this Spring/Summer. But how lovely is this color??

So, as I mentioned before, I may need to re-evaluate my Maxi-love for Spring/Summer – maybe I should be looking for a more affordable version of the first beau soleil dress, that is my favorite.
During the warmer months, a maxi dress and cardigan is my uniform. They’re so easy to wear, look best with flats (yay!), and are the ultimate in effortless-chic. Every year, I buy one or two long dresses and wear them all the time (washing in between of course). So far this year, I’ve played it safe with solid color James Perse Maxi Dresses, but I’m thinking about branching out a bit and trying a pattern (gasp!).
