You know I’m not a fan of sample sale sites, and I haven’t purchased anything yet, and I don’t know if I will, or even if I’ll get a chance to (because everything will sell out soon), but I was too tempted not to check out the Rue La La Marc by MJ (that’s an invite link if you’re not a member already – you’ll get a $10 credit if you join through it!) sample sale…

Here’s what I’m loving – the shoes are both $119 and the sweaters $99 – :

There’s another sweater I have in my cart, but I’m not going to post it yet so it doesn’t get stolen right out from under me ;)

This sweet little birdie “pouchette” by Marc by Marc Jacobs is entirely too small for me, but I would love to just have it to look at. Okay, no, not really, but isn’t it lovely? I like what he did this Fall putting little creatures everywhere….

And now, I give you my twitter friend, Polyvore/Outfit expert Madeline Rhodes to show us how to style this piece. (How amazing is that Antik Batik top??)

The new sale markdowns at Shopbop are definitely worth checking out (actually some of the things I had been looking at to purchase with the TAXBREAK code last week, are now marked down…), especially the handbags section. All of these Marc by Marc Jacobs bags I seriously considered buying at one time or another, and I would still buy any of them if I had the money…

Closet Cleaning Part 1: Shoes for Sale! (Heels)

April 20, 2009

I HATE to have things in my closet I don’t wear, besides the fact that they take up valuable space, I am also on a mission to fill my closet ONLY with things I love (and that love me back). I want my wardrobe to be as tightly edited as my favorite boutiques – full [...]

Net-a-Porter Outnet Launches!

April 16, 2009

We’ve been hearing about the new “outlet” version of Net-a-Porter, Outnet for months, and now it’s finally here. Outnet is where Net-a-Porter’s out-of-season/last year’s designs go to get marked down, at least 30-80%. They’re also, as they say, going to “keep things interesting” by offering pop-up sales and limited time offers similar to sample sale [...]

The color of Spring

January 7, 2009

I am so tired of posting sales and seeing the same old thing lately. Actually, this is the first time ever I’ve been excited about new Spring arrivals in January (usually, I think it’s silly that designers debut Spring pieces so early); I’m simply craving something different, something interesting, something BRIGHT. From what I’m seeing [...]

Spring/Summer 2007 Handbags

March 15, 2007

So, soon it will be Spring, and Spring always brings brighter colors and lighter clothes. I don’t know about you, but I don’t stop wearing bright colors in the Fall/Winter (I don’t really wear them much at all), so I don’t look forward to Spring to break out my colors again, but there’s just something [...]
