That’s right…if you’re new to Hayden-Harnett’s wonderful bags & apparel, it’s time to take the plunge and save 20% on your first order with code “grechenfirsttime” until next Friday, November 20. I am, unfortunately (or fortunately, actually!), not a new customer – I’ve been a fan of Hayden-Harnett’s since they were just starting out, and still am. I love their “vintage” aesthetic, buttery leather bags, and completely unique line of apparel that leaves me drooling everytime I go to check out what’s new…
Here’s what I would buy:

Hayden-Harnett Silk Tank: $98

Hayden-Harnett Clutch Wallet: $160

Hayden-Harnett Pouch Necklace: $98

Hayden-Harnett Biblio Bag: $558
What are you buying?
There’s really not much left in the sale section at Hayden-Harnett, but there are still a few spend-worthy items…including THE bag I was raving about earlier in the season – this Kira hobo in Eucalyptus:

Kira Hobo: $216
Um, hello? $216??
The zephyr hobo is also on sale, for $238 (in other colors too)

Zephyr Hobo: $238
(and psst…I have a $50 off $100 VIP coupon I’m not going to use – in spite of being super close to ordering the kira hobo…if you’re interested, leave a comment and let me know. the first person to leave a comment gets it. just please please please make sure you’re going to use it if you ask for it.)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE what some brands/designers are doing lately to not only spotlight their customers but also harness their marketing power. First, Hayden-Harnett did it with their IRL newsletter series, Belen Echandia started a new way in which customers can upload their own photos, and now, Hayden Harnett launches a whole section on their site devoted to the love of Hayden-Harnett. And look! there I am!!!

How powerful is this? As I mentioned in my previous post on Hayden-Harnett’s IRL series, seeing the dress on a person who is not a model is what took me from liking the dress to NEEDING to have it. And when you’re considering buying anything, handbags especially, seeing it on a person, in real-life situations can be a significant deciding factor. So again, bravo to Hayden-Harnett & Belen Echandia for having the vision to truly appreciate how powerful your customers are.
What do you think? Does seeing something “in real life” help you make a purchasing decision?

*note* I posted this on Friday and then the site/database crashed taking this post + all the lovely comments and another post with it. thank you to everyone who left a comment on the original post, I really appreciate your input and I’m sorry I lost them!!
I finally caved and got the Hayden-Harnett Thea dress I was obsessed with earlier in the Summer when it went down to $39 recently. I had originally wanted to get the navy blue dress, but by the time I was ready to buy, the Citron/Byzantium combination was the only color left in my size, so I decided to go for it. And I’m happy I did! I think the color is really nice on me and unlike anything I already have in my closet.
The fit is also great – I love the rope belt, and that the waist is already cinched so you don’t get weird bunching when you tie the belt. I took a large, even after hearing on message boards that Hayden-Harnett’s clothes run a bit big (since I have hips, nothing ever runs big on me LOL), and I’m happy with it, although I do wish it was a little longer and covered my knees.
Well worth it for $39 in my opinion…what do you think?
