I had the most wonderful lunch “meeting” with Esti (from Buy Definition) and Morgan from (Runway Daily) today; I love to talk to other female entrepreneurs – they always feel like long-lost sisters! Anyway, it’s a rainy day today, and aside from it being Earth Day, I always wear my TOMS on rainy days. First, they hold up well to rain, and second, they bring a little brightness to otherwise dreary days
Also wearing:
Ella Moss strapless dress, worn as a skirt
LnA tank Top
Madewell army jacket
Alexander Wang Coco

To be honest, I’m not really feeling this outfit today…I got the skirt Saturday from Anthropologie, and I really love it, but I wish I could insert someone else’s legs there where mine are….
I’m also wearing:
James Perse top
LaRok sweater
Spanx tights
Sportmax Clogs
Alexander Wang Coco Duffel

So, I wore one of my very oldest James Perse pieces (this tube dress) in honor of the James Perse sample sale on Gilt this morning, and ended up being disappointed. There were lots of tees and long skirts, some dresses, but nothing I really wanted to buy. Oh well, now I have more money for the Splendid & Bloch sales tomorrow
And as I look at the picture, it’s obvious that I need to add a belt. In person, you can see more definition of my waist, and there’s a drawstring tie visible, but I do think it would look more pulled-together with a belt. Next time…
Also wearing American Apparel leggings, No. 6 Clogs (similar to these at La Garconne, but mine are peep-toe), Alexander Wang Coco duffel, Skin & Threads Cardi.
Here’s a first pic of my “nude” Repetto BB Flats I got from the Fred Segal sale a couple of weeks ago. And the lovely cashmere blend cardigan the people at Inhabit NY sent as a gift…

I do want to add a follow-up note about my experience shopping at Fred Segal online though, since I mentioned that I’d been charged twice when I posted the sale. I always use a debit card for shopping online (I don’t have a credit card) and don’t usually have problems, but when I do, it’s a pain. So, Fred Segal put a hold on my card for twice the amount I should have been billed – kind of like I placed two orders – so I didn’t have access to that money for three days. I contacted them by e-mail immediately when I learned I was charged twice. I called them later in the day, and then e-mailed the second day, and called when I thought they should have been open and either I got a busy signal, or no answer. I continued calling through that day and the next, and never got anywhere. In the meantime, I never received a confirmation of my order, and when I went to click on the link I was given when I finished check out, the page no longer existed – so I had no proof that I ordered anything, no confirmation, no communication at all from Fred Segal, but they were holding $224 of my money. I assumed at this point that I wasn’t going to get the shoes, and I kind of hoped that the charges would drop off my account after the three days, but I had no idea. So, Friday, January 8th my fiance and I drove the 14 hrs to Austin (which actually turned out to be more like 22 hrs with ice on the roads) and when we arrived at nearly midnight there was a fedex notice on the door…my shoes were at the apartment office ready to be picked up. And the second charge was dropped off my account. But I never once heard anything from Fred Segal. Not one bit of communication or confirmation or reassurance that my order was received and I would get my shoes. I’m really disappointed, and frankly baffled by the total lack of regard for customer service. I’d love to hear if anyone else has had a better experience with Fred Segal – maybe mine was just a fluke – but seriously if they want my money again, they need to work on their communication skills. There is NO EXCUSE.
