I don’t know about you, but I was a little over the recent skull trend – at least in terms of the Alexander McQueen scarves, and over the top Thomas Wylde bags. I will admit that I did collect a few skull items (my favorite, are a pair of rose gold Bing Bang skull studs, which I still wear) when it was the thing to do, and I’m still attracted to skulls as a design element. I do consider skulls to be more “classic” than trendy (Stubs & Wooten, Lucien Pellat-Finet cashmere…); they are really always “in,” although as we saw a couple of years ago, they can be more “in” periodically as celebrities decide they want to wear them.
I was definitely not looking for skulls when I was browsing handbag designer, Treesje‘s website, but now, I am OBSESSED. With this bag:
It’s the perfect way to do skulls in my opinion: subtle, in a repeating pattern, and on a large bag. It just works.
I really prefer the large travel tote, but the smaller tote is more manageable and available at more online boutiques:
Here it is a little larger, and in gold at Revolve.
What do you think? Are skulls in,out, or classic?
