I love bucket bags. I can’t exactly pinpoint why, maybe because they’re slightly boho? usually colorful? and mostly unstructured? I couldn’t live with that for an everyday bag I don’t think, but for summer, life seems a little more carefree, and maybe I could throw caution to the wind and carry such a bag?
I’m not in the market right now, but if I were, I’d probably choose the A.P.C. bag. It’s perfect for every season, and in a wonderful neutral color THAT IS NOT BLACK. I do also love the Jerome Dreyfuss Alain bag, and in that perfect bright yellow, and even the Alexander Wang Diego bag. I had a Diego when they first came out, but sold it because I found it to be sort of difficult to get into. Now, I wish I hadn’t.
Of course there are also great vintage options. Coach has some good ones, and check out Jennine’s vintage MCM.
What do you think of bucket bags? Which is your favorite? Do you own one?
Want more bucket bags?? Good, here they are:

I love boho, but bucket bags are my least favorite style. I think it’s because they’re too unstructured. Although I do like the ones that you chose to feature.
I love a tote, and some of the larger ones I use are just as unstructured as a bucket, but I never consider a bucket bag. Not sure why. I really like a few that you have featured, so maybe I’ll have to go “try on” a few and see what I think! I am looking for a new summer bag….
i like an unstructured bag on occasion – but these are mostly structured, at the bottom anyway…what i have a hard time with is the drawstring opening – it’s sort of hard to get into…
i think you have to be “in the mood” for a bucket bag LOL
Bucket bags usually aren’t my cup of tea, but if you are in the right frame of mind it can work or when I am willing to experiment.
I have to say, I LOVE my bucket bag! It’s the best for casual outfits, and love how the drawstring keeps things secure, but isn’t too fussy. I would have never given it a chance if it weren’t for you! Love these picks as well! Mayve I need a black one too?
i love your bucket bag! so chic š
and yes, you need a black one…i like the little BAGGU one.
Every bucket bag is a GOOD bucket bag to an old hippie! I think my love of them started while rooting through my mom’s old clothes and bags when I was a kid and I found the most perfect natural tan bucket bag with a bamboo handle. I don’t recall who it was by, or why I failed to snag it. But I will!! (Trust me, she’ll still have it!)
Currently, I’m craving the fashion editor’s favorite by Mansur Gavriel, because of it’s simplicity. Boho simplicity: Counter-intuitive, right?
