Sale Picks Today | James Perse Sample Sale

Today is the beginning of the James Perse private sample sale, and I think it’s pretty good (ALL SALES ARE FINAL). The prices and selection is better than the last sale; I’m at least going to get one of those $39 work shirts…

james perse sample sale

from L to R, top to bottom:
Tie Dye pencil skirt | $74 (I have this in black and can’t say enough amazing things about it. I’m very tempted by the tie-dye)
Sheer slub side panel shirt | $64 (several colors available) I have had this in white for many years and it still looks brand new – I recommend this HIGHLY. especially at this price. Here’s a white one in size 3 at Bloomingdale’s for $69.
Multi-layer t-shirt dress | $144
Scoop back boxy tee | $59 (if you’re a size 2, this is $54 at Nordstrom)
Double needle work shirt | $39 (also in black)
Cashmere cropped funnel neck sweater | $149
Relaxed casual v-neck | $39 (*see note below)

*a note about James Perse quality, etc. since we’ve discussed this quite a bit lately: while the casual t-shirt is my FAVORITE T-SHIRT EVER, I have a problem recommending it anymore since my last white (full-price) t-shirt got holes pretty quickly after I bought it. Also, I have one ribbed tank top that got a hole after 1 wear. I do have one of the long sleeve casual v-neck tees I posted above and it DOES NOT have any holes at all, despite it’s being several years old. All of my other JP pieces (skirts, dresses, sweaters, etc) have held up SUPERBLY and I highly recommend them. Just not the t-shirts anymore :(

Any thoughts on the Miniskirt? And on sizing? Don’t own any JP clothes, but am very tempted by the dress shirt and the needle work shirt (though it looks very very baggy…?).
I love miniskirts for leggings, but they must be flattering, comfortable and have a twist, so the double bias one could be perfect – or awkward.

    Input appreciated…

i tried on the needle work shirt and loved it, although even the size 4 was small for MY hips :( – but yes, it is quite baggy, and oversized even, but very nicely made.

the miniskirt is so hard to tell from the picture. as far as I can tell, JP has a couple mini skirts out now, and one is crisscrossed in the back, and kind of short, and the other is just a “normal” twisted, double layered one. it looks like this one is a normal one, but it’s hard to tell from the picture. maybe try and chat with them about it?

**actually as i look at it again, i can see it’s even in the back, and looks like it could be just what you’re looking for…

**also, just discovered a trick! if you add it to your cart, you can see other views. it looks great, i may get one ;) (I am a size 3 in JP bottoms)
